This is the first time we have stayed here since Wanda left a few months ago and it is basically just as nice as it was then. We had heard rumors that it was supposed to close the end of this month (Sep 2013) but all indications are that they have funding to keep it open for another year. It is not a fancy place to stay but is more than adequate for the $15 per night. Without a camp host, you are strictly on your honor now. They have the same system of check in as before and use the same forms and collection box. No credit cards -- cash or check only. The pull-thru sites are plenty long and have 50 amp with water & sewer and a picnic table. No cable TV so we use out antenna and get excellent reception with a converter box. They also have a two-washer/dryer laundry available for $1 per load. I have read a few negative comments on the security guards, who are all civilian, but the ones we have encountered have been very friendly and courteous - and no searches. The only downsides to staying here would be the odor from the dog food plant when the wind is right and the trains that are only a few hundred yards away. So I would highly recommend the Sharpe RV park for anyone who wants to save a few bucks and have a good location with security.
