Stayed in the new RV park addition. Fresh landscaping, resort hookups. Local TV was from across the boarder. Satellite was great. Wash rack, free, open 24/7 across from recreation office. Dinning facility available on Sat and Sun. Added extra was the Blue Angeles practicing for the up coming air shows. Nothing like sitting outside your rig with a beer in hand watching them flying over head.

The RV park staff issued us a site for 2 months but after a month they decided that we had to move to another site after moving to the other site the staff decided that only 1 vehicle besides the RV could be kept on site so those with motorcycles be ware you will have to keep it at the Hobby Shop or somewhere else.
KBUG (Know Before You Go). When entering the base via the far right lane in an RV you will currently fall into a ridiculously deep dip right in the middle of your turn. If you value your jacks or your tow, go slow. In the past it has been SOP to exit the base via the lane that you came in (out through the in-door). Currently there is a sign indicating that this is what is expected. However, recently a gate guard declared that from now on RVs can depart using the far right hand lane and thus avoid the pit when leaving. Big rigs trying to gas up on base – the height of the awning is not posted. If you know you rig and want to chance it anyhow add a half a foot plus some bounce when your tires go over the one of a kind spill barrier surrounding the pumps or say goodbye to vent covers.

This is a winter destination park for many. There were several sites available the whole time we were here. Quiet base, galley was good and cheap. Campers had pot luck get together for Christmas and was outstanding as well as very friendly campers, we enjoyed it alot. Gilbert is camphost in site 85 and does a great job and will visit with you. Facilities clean and sites are good. New sites are finished and open. They appear to separate long term and short term in different areas, but not a big deal I guess. Will definitely stay again. No WIFI in campground, have to go to Take 5 at Exchange facility and WIFI was a little slow. ATT cell 2 and 3 bars.

Well I have to start to say I was here in June, HOT, HOT, HOT. sites are easy access, good room. The base is so small it surprised me. The only negative comment is when I used the showers there was no hot water, maybe since I was not in season it was turned off. Could not enjoy much since this time of the year the temp was about 108 daily. Time to move on to San Diego.

Due to several circumstances, we had to spend the entire winter here. Gilbert, the park host was outstanding and went out of his way to help make our stay enjoyable. He watched our rig when we were away and even closed our slides during high winds on one occasion. Thanks Gilbert! Also, Joann and the staff in MWR are great as well. Our site, #22, had recently had an electrical upgrade but some of the old wires are laying on the ground. Water pressure can be up and down depending on the time of the day. Electrical quality is the same. Our surge protector kicked us us off the grid a few times due to low voltage. Propane is available at the Auto Hobby Shop and is very reasonably priced. You like the "Sound Of Freedom"? Well, this is definitely the place for you. When the active runway to the southwest, the jets use a left downwind, flying right over the park. F-18's flying in the pattern with the gear down get very loud. The Blue Angels arrived in January and we got a great air show several times a week. Free movies at the base theater Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The dining hall is available to retiree's when the Oasis Club is not open. We will back.

A.B. left this review using the Directory software: - Great campground Staff was very professional and friendly. A well kept secret. They just opened up a new section of camp sites with full h/u. The base theater shows current movies free on Wednesdays to all hands. We will stay here again when we leave the east coast to CA.
Nice FAMCAMP. Looks like many are there for the winter but there was always some open spots. We were there for a week and nice weather the entire time. The exchange is currently being redone so only a small part was open. Some plane noise but not bad and they did not fly late night. Great value if you are staying a month at $300.

P.A. left this review using the Directory software: - Very quiet base. You almost wonder if anyone is assigned there. They have cement pads and everything around it is bare ground. It rained over night there was at least 4 inches of water around the pad and power pole. Some gravel would be nice. One nice thing is they have a wash facility big enough for your RV right across the street from the campground and it is FREE.
