We took this trip yesterday & it was Beautiful!! It's in California off Hwy 41 in Oakhurst. Be prepared for about a 6 hour trip as it is thru the mountains & curvy. Also, there is an 8 mile stretch that isn't paved, so you have to go especially slow. It was interesting tho, because they were logging along there & it was fun to watch them loading those hugh trees. Stop in North Fork Ranger Station on your way & get the "Sierra Traveler". It shows the whole route & all the points of interest. Pay close attention as you get near where you think the stop should be. Almost all were marked, but not well. If you blinked, you passed it! I wanted to stop at the "Center of California", but never saw any kind of sign for it. Also, take food & water. There was no place to get either once we left North Fork. The sights are beautiful so take your camera & enjoy the day!
