"Build it and they will come." The RV'rs arrive and the most commonly heard remark is: "What they heck were they thinking?" The sites are far from being level. The sites are very close (too close) and extremely tight with high cement curbs surrounding gravel landscaping that looks nice and makes no functional sense. Instead, it presents the very real and already experienced tripping/falling hazard. CAUTION as tripping/falling hazards are found at nearly every site. Half of the sites have water/sewer hookup on one side while the electric hookup is on the other side. Park your RV facing north or south, it does not matter as water and sewer will be on one side with electric on the other rendering the previously referenced campground map obsolete. It makes no sense. It is a beautiful little campground ideally located between Yellowstone National Park and Glacier National Park. No bathrooms, no showers but the latrine (pit toilet) is clean and well kept. No management, no information and when calling to make a reservation, expect to leave several unanswered/unreturned phone messages. The clerks/admin at billeting do not know or understand RV's or the park/grounds and seem uninterested in learning. The grounds are maintained by a volunteer and the pride of ownership shows as he and his efforts have made an appreciated difference. Ft. Harrison, a campground for a short/overnight stay for those who are strong and steady on their feet.

Whomever designed this fam camp knows nothing about RVs. Previous post by tdplummer is accurate and I'd like to pile on. The location is the site is great with wonderful scenery, but it's not level enough. The whole flushing uphill thing needs to be addressed, too. The staff that checks you in is friendly enough, but could use a field trip to the park to see how the sites are oriented and to explain the difference between 30- and 50-amp requirements. The base could also use a few signs that say "Billeting" or "Lodging" to point visitors to the building where we check in. What it's called locally is not universally understood. Thanks to the fella who's taking virtual ownership of the park and working hard to improve it. This review is for you, buddy. Please show the colonel.

While most of the comments the previous reviewer are correct some are not. When we arrived at billeting the nice young lady apologized profusely for not having our reserved space. She put us in dry camping for the night at no charge at first I was very annoyed it was raining and she wanted me to park in the grass/mud tent camping area but when I explained the size and weight of my coach she agreed that I should stay on the asphalt. Plenty of room to put out the slides without blocking traffic. I was also very annoyed at the person who had overstayed but that was until I discovered that a lot if not most of the spaces were in use by veterans using the co-located VA hospital and were at the mercy of their scheduling. Understanding and compassion are necessary here. The next morning I moved into space 12 and the "fun" began. 1. You need to pay attention to the map they give you the sites are all pull through and alternate the direction you face. Get it wrong and your hookups will be as the previous reviewer noted on the wrong side. 2. The island curbs are very high making the sewer hookup higher than the bottom of my tanks. 3. The lane between the high curbed islands is so narrow the I couldn't open the doors to my wet or electrical bay all of the way. 4. The back row (sites 6 -12) are not anywhere near level blocks will be necessary to keep from over extending your jacks.

J.M. left this review using the Directory software: There were a lot of weeds in the electric and water sites. It is a small campground. There are 50 Amps available. Lots of deer roam the base and campground.
