Yes, the hookups are in strange places, but not so bad it can't be done. The pads are narrow (but level) and the E boxes/W faucets can get in the way of slides, and if you opt to be close to the W/E, plan to crawl under the RV to hookup sewer, as they are in the center of the pads. There is enough length to back to the edge of the drain, then the hoses and cords all need to be longer. It's very quiet here, but the playground is too far to let little ones off on their own. But, for preteens the skate park and playground are only a short walk away. Ask the MWR office about laundry, as the old housing area still has a launderette (with no AC), but during dity hours you can stay on base and do it there. No commissary on Earle, and the shoppette in only open M-Sa 10-1700. We went to Ft.Monmoth (Go out Earle Main gate take a rt., at first light another rt, go two more lights - passing a highschool - take a lt on Tinton. This road curves around some scenic horse farms and takes you right to Monmoth's main gate). I liked the closeness to NY and Liberty State Park (NJ side), and Arlene in the office was VERY helpful. No recycling on either base.
