First time at this park and I loved it. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Facilities were nice and clean with alot of places to walk your dog. There are two pet parks across the street also. The park is right behind the Commissary, BX and food court and well within walking distance. There is a mini-mart and gas station on the corner that you pass coming and going. Had to get a daily pass for my wife but it was fast and easy on our way out every day. There is alot of jet noise but I like the sound and watching them anyway. Usually slows way down in the evening and week-end. Could not have picked a better base camp to go explore in any direction. Looking forward to staying here again.

We were fortunate enough to be able to snag a spot here during Spring Training. While we were here, I could understand why. The minute someone left, there was a rig ready to take the spot within a couple of hours. This is our first five-star review across the board and the only complaint I have is with a guy spraying for weeds, so I feel that's a one-off. The sites and facilities are clean and there's always someone out doing maintenance. The park is right behind the commissary and the exchange, so you can easily walk there. The convenience of this RV park along with the cost makes it a must for us when we are in the Phoenix area. My complaint with the landscaping guy is he was spraying weed killer around the sites and completely covered our water hoses and water filter with the spray (it was dyed blue). When I asked if he could avoid doing that in the future, he just commented we needed to file a complaint with the office. I was just providing feedback and didn't want to get him in trouble, but I thought that was an odd response. Luckily it was still wet and I could hose off the sprayed areas. A couple of things to be aware of. This is a training base and the F-35s are flying daily and sometimes nightly. They're loud. We loved it and thought it was awesome to watch. However, some folks or their pets might be sensitive to it. Another thing to be aware of is the biker bar right off base. They are partying hard and playing loud music on Friday and Saturday nights and you can easily hear it in the park. But, it's a Friday and Saturday night and I feel that's warranted and didn't bug us.

Would love to give the Luke AFB Famcamp a full 5-Stars, but there are a few negatives to consider. The first is the width of the concrete pads. I have a 34' 5th wheel and parked with the driver-side wheels on the very edge of the pad. Even then, my steps were extending past the pad on the passenger side, into the rock. The pads should have been about 2' wider. There is a small concrete extension attached that holds a nice picnic table, and some folks are able to move the table and line up their steps to that section. But depending on where your steps fold out, they may not work and leave enough room to park your tow vehicle. Then the landscaping rock.. it great to look at, but sharp and will ruin an outdoor mat/rug posthaste. Then the big factor to consider before making reservations, the NOISE. This is the most active Airbase I've ever visited. As a training base, fighter jets are taking off frequently throughout the day and well into the evening. It's quite loud, and if I am streaming a movie in the evening, I find myself having to pause it often due to the dialogue being drowned out. In addition, the campground is directly next to the rear of the Commissary. Adding the noise of frequent delivery and trash trucks. Oh, almost forgot... the PA Speaker that plays 0700 Reveille and 2100 Taps is located on the backside of the Famcamp, is Very Loud and guaranteed to wake you up! My neighbor who booked a 3-month stay was quite surprised by the noise levels and was thinking about leaving. Now, I only bring these issues up as a heads up to consider. If you are looking for peace and quiet, keep going. It's a beautiful and well-run Famcamp, but with a few caveats.

Nicely laid out park and the free washers and dryers is a great touch! Unlike most famcamps, this one isn't in the middle of nowhere. It's right next to the Commissary, BX, and hospital.

We stayed here on our way to Tucson. The park is very well laid out, long level concrete pads and picnic table. We were only able to stay one night due to the park being very full. There ware 3 washer/dryers available at no cost which is nice. The commissary/exchange/food court is adjacent to the RV park and very convenient. There is also a gas station very close to the park and it's easy in/easy out for my Class C towing a Jeep. The staff was very polite and helpful during check in. We will be back again for sure.

This is a much delayed review. We stayed here a couple of weeks around Easter. Loved this campground, except we had a disaster, one of several on this trip! We were in an end site (south end) of one row with our awning facing towards the wall. On Easter Sunday I left the awning out, since the weather was and had been hot and there had been no wind. We returned to the trailer after dark and found the awning destroyed! A strong whirlwind had come across the open space and yanked our awning, including the hardware, up high, also damaging the roof. Damage was over $10K. So, if you stay here, particularly in one of those end sites, be sure to roll up your awning if leaving, although our neighbor also was present and he had a strong tug on his too. It may be prudent just not use the awning if in an end site with the awning facing the open space. Thought I'd pass it along to keep you out of trouble. Otherwise this is an excellent park. I agree with those who mentioned that the bar/strip joint being a noisy nuisance on weekends is a pain. Too bad the city allows the outdoor sound system.

Great location. This should be the standard for all military campgrounds/FamCamps! Everything was very clean and well maintained. Spots were level and long. The Exchange and Commissary are located just around the corner. The gas station is down the street, making it very easy to fill up before heading off base. We will definitely stop here again.

GOOD & BAD! READ TO THE END! The GOOD- This is one of the nicest FamCamps I’ve stayed at. It’s brand new (about 6 months old as of this post). The sites are level, water, electric (30/50a) and sewer are all in good locations. Check-In was super fast, with very friendly staff able to answer all my questions. The map says not all sites have a picnic table, but they all do. Walking distance to the commissary, Base Exchange, class 6 and a pretty neat park across the street by the child development center. There are bathrooms with showers that are clean and nice. There is an activity room with books and games to play, a big screen TV, refrigerator and tons of brochures for local attractions. The laundry room is in the same building, also very nice. 4 washers and 4 dryers. There is an overflow parking lot in the back if you have more than one vehicle. Getting on the base is fairly easy, but there are some tight turns that bigger rigs might have trouble with. Cell reception is 100% with my AT&T phone, and I got 30+ local channels with my antenna. THE BAD- There is a bar (Sage & Sand) at the corner of Litchfield and Glendale. It’s about 1/4 of a mile away. EVERY Friday and Saturday night at 9pm they have a band that plays until 1am. It’s so loud I thought they were right outside my camper. The jet noise isn’t bad, the night flying was sucky though. Landing and taking off at 10-11pm got old fast. The last bad thing is that the sites are a little tight, you have to be ALL THE WAY to the left when parking or you will be stepping out into the rocks. It would also be nice to have a cross walk to get to the park across the street, and a turning lane to get into the FamCamp. Also they could put a nice walking path in for the back “shortcut“ to the BX. Overall a great place, the noise sucked but the rest was good. It’ll be nicer once the trees and shrubs are grown in. There’s a ton of room to make this a very nice, family friendly campground- hopefully they continue to work on it.

This should be the new standard for all Famcamps. The sites are evenly spaced with concrete parking and asphalt roads. All are FHU's with grills and concrete patios. The laundry has 3 washers and dryers (free) and the restrooms were very nice. The Commissary and BX are next to the Famcamp with the gas station one block away with Diesel. Reservations are required as they were very full when we were there. I guess the word is out that this Famcamp is excellent in location and facilities. The WIFI is not available yet but they are working toward that goal. We will stay here again.

Overall experience is fine but 930 dollars a month or 210 per 7 days is too much for rumbling jets. You can stay in a Phoenix area rv resort for that price. Perhaps this famcamp is directed at officers or TDY. P.S. while 30 dollars for a few nights may be acceptable, it is a horrible weekly rate and they have no monthly rate due to 21 day restrictions but if they did, 30 x 31 = 930.

Really a nice park. Free laundry, clean. Well kept grounds. A few long term folks here but they were usually off to work before 7. Seven o’clock is a site to heard. No reveille but a lot of jets on the taxiways, brakes on and full throttle for five minutes. The ground shakes and a few car alarms sound. This is Air Force reveille! In the evening, retreat is “right out your door”, big loud speakers mounted right next to Saguaro Skies. Weekends were very quiet except for the topless bar’s music nearby. Lots to do in the area for shopping and eating despite COVID. Club five-six on base served a Thanksgiving Brunch. Not what it was advertised. PX and Commissary very convenient. No WiFi in the park, just in the office building. A year or two out. As for directions, above. Do not turn right on W. Mustang (dead end). Instead turn on W. Falcon, follow up and over the bridge, Thunderbird. We will come back.

Great new facility, nicely spaced sites, everything is brand new and in great condition. No shade, but they have nicely xeriscaped everything, so at least it's pretty. Customer service was outstanding. Free laundry room, also all new. Some airplane noise in morning and mid afternoon, but not horrible. The one nice thing about the location is there isn't much traffic noise. I probably won't return myself, but only because there is no access to the Phoenix bike trail system (google shows you can get there on Glendale, but it's not a safe ride). However, if you have a reason to be in the area, its a nice park at reasonable rates. No wifi except in the office - I was pretty close to the office and could not get it with an antenna.

We spent a couple days at this new FamCamp. Lance in the office greeted us and was fantastic! Being a new facility, everything was in great shape. We had made a reservation, which was easy, but wasn't necessary. There were less than a dozen RV's in the park during our stay, but the weather was still above 100F degrees. Everything worked perfectly. The restroom and showers are new and modern. The large laundry room had 3 washers and 3 dryers (with room for more), all free to use. Getting the FamCamp is a little unusual, but that's because RV's are required to use the South Gate. You then drive a little over a mile along the flight line, then across a bridge to reach the housing area where the FamCamp is located. When back in the area, we'll certainly stay here again.

The brand new FamCamp on Luke AFB (Saguaro Skies FamCamp) is extremely nice. We stayed here for 4 days and as others have said, when you enter you MUST enter through South gate. As you arrive you will see the FamCamp on your right and you will be VERY tempted to try to enter through Kachina gate - don't do it. Kachina gate has an intentionally VERY narrow, winding entry as an entry control measure. Using South Gate you will drive only about 1.5 miles more but the gate is designed for large, long vehicles. The sites are all pull through, concrete pads, perfectly level, well thought out with a clear open sky for satellite. If you don't have satellite, no worry, you will receive 80 local channels. All of the normal local affiliate channels and all of the normal over the air antenna channels. You will also receive some Spanish channels and shopping channels if you like those. All of the utilities are on the left side rear and you will need two (2) drain hoses for your waste water. I read one of the reviews that talked about the small picnic table concrete pad next to the site and not being able to sit outside in chairs except in the gravel. This is true, I actually had to move the picnic table, a little, just to open my front compartment doors fully. "But" you can easily move the picnic table off the concrete pad into the gravel (which is perfectly level and the picnic table is still fully usable) and then use the concrete pad as your outside sitting, entertaining area (I expect this will become VERY common). The concrete pad is also perfectly situated for your outside TV. The sites are situated back to front so if your coach is facing North your neighbors will both be facing South. There are four (4) double wide handicap sites, still with the normal picnic table pad (22,23,.32,33). The double wide site gives the user twice the concrete width of the site, which if you were in a wheel chair, or have mobility difficulties, gives you plenty of room to move around outside without going into the gravel. We don't use site bath houses or laundry but we went in them just to review. They are of course brand new and beautiful. There are both standard size and handicap showers both with fold down seats. The shower heads are the same chrome shower heads found in a typical coach with the on/off button on the shower head, the water pressure is pretty good. There appears to be a water pressure reducer on the site hose bib but it is NOT. It is a back flow preventer, and the site water pressure is about 80 psi so use your own 50 psi pressure reducer if your coach needs one (most new coaches don't need one). There are three (3) washers and dryers with no cost for use. The site stays are already listed on this site but I will add that they have ten (10) long term sites that may be reserved for up to 90 days per use and may also be extended if available. The daily rate is $30 regardless of length of stay, which I would prefer be the more common $22 per day. They do not have the AF Frequent Camper packets, as we know they are no longer available, but they did accept by book and coupon for a free night. They had some information about the program but not enough so I explained to the staff how it works and I provided them with copies of the policies and process that I received with my packet. They don't have the stamper for your book but they still filled it out and signed my book and accepted my coupon. I expect this FamCamp will become one of the prime snowbird winter locations as it is an extremely nice FamCamp and EVERYTHING is within walking distance.

Wow, our confirmation number was #20, very easy to make reservations. Base access was a little complicated as you need to use the Southgate but if you follow the signs you’ll be fine. Everything is new so it’s really nice, bath house, laundry and office. No Wi-Fi yet but they say they’re working on it. About 30 miles outside of Phoenix Arizona but it’s easy drive the RV park is located within walking distance of the base exchange, commissary, and the gas station. Luke is a very clean and active base, also within walking distance is the Base clinic and and prescription refill pharmacy. I’m sure this will get very crowded during the snowbird season.

We drove by today (6 Sep) and it looks amazing! All the sites are pull-through, and it's right behind the Commissary and Exchange, making shopping convenient. We are looking forward to spending a few nights there (we are local). The mesquite trees are going to be messy when they lose their leaves. I'll upload pictures.

Stopped by when I noticed several rvs in the park. It appears that the spaces don't leave much room on either side when an rv is parked and the patio is too small to accommodate two lawn chairs with the picnic lable and BBQ grill. With slide outs extended you will have to walk in the rocks to get around the rv.
