This is one of the nicest military facilities we have found on our travels and one of the best deals around at only $435/mo FHU. We called the office in October and were advised they were only about 60% full. So we gradually headed over that way arriving on November 1, 2022. True to their word, we had our pick of so many sites that we were hard-pressed to choose a favorite, but we eventually found one we liked best at the back end of the upper loop. Even though YPG is about 24 miles from Yuma, we rated the location as a 5 because you can get almost anything you really need from the commissary and exchange store (convenience store) here on a day-to-day basis and it's really a quiet, sleepy place, far safer and nicer than many other public campgrounds around the area, especially closer to Yuma. The staff here is super nice. There is a sense of community here and of people helping people and watching out for each other. After having stayed here a month, we're thinking about making this place an annual winter spot from now on. There are weekly events that folks can participate in. Today was a free lunchtime barbecue with base leadership in participation, so we got to hear from everyone from the base CO on down; a very nice and fun affair. As of December 1, tomorrow, I would say they will only be about 70% full, so don't be afraid to call ahead and come on over. Talk to Mindy or Annette at the office for up-to-date info. They'll be glad to help you and the whole community will be glad to see you if you come. Cheers!
