Monterey Pines RV Campground

Make this review simple, next time in this area I will stay at any campground before staying here even if I have to pay $100 a day. Worst entry to park, no info given when registering. Sites a mess and on top of each other. Wasted enough time on this review, stay away.

I have mixed reviews of this park. It is in need of TLC at the sites. Landscaping is poor. Our first site had dog pooh all around the picnic table. It should have been cleaned prior to renting. Our site did have great views of the Monterey Pines Golf Course's #1 green and #2 tee. That was very enjoyable. The amenities listed above on this website are incorrect. There is no Exchange and no gas on site. There is wifi, but it is weak. We played golf several times, drove the Pacific Coast Highway and visited the Language School where I learned Chinese in 1972, prior deployment to Vietnam. The directions listed on this site "from Salinas" need editing. The entrance to the park is a 180 degree turn from Garden Rd into the Golf Course. Carlina and the golf staff were very friendly. (Editors note: The Exchange and Gas are located elsewhere on the installation).

We got here late and met the host -real friendly, put us on the east side in a short spot. Woke up to golf course lawn mowers starting at 0500 and small jet engine noise over the fence at end of runway of the municipal airport at 0600 could not take it after listening to golf course mowers for 1.5 hours and commuter jets take off, we left in a hurry. Totally over valued park, would need to pay me to stay!

Highly marginal park. Had reserv w/specific site. On arrival,we had been switched to site that was shorter than our 41 ft RV,altho original site was vacant. Suspect favoritism. Gen Mgr tried to convince us to park @ an angle.TOTALLY unsat, refused it. Insisted on refund & left!They were supposed to chg 2 days in advance, but had chg'd whole 8 days.Spaces are very unlevel,narrow. Golfing is their business,RV park is an afterthought. Would NEVER consider going back-worst Mil park we've seen as full-timers. Go elsewhere!
