This is an OK military campground which could so be so much better with just a bit of command attention from the Outdoor Rec Office and/or the Base CDR. First, the first come -- first served site selection. You have 12' Minnie Winnie's parked in the largest pull through sites and 40+ Class A's squeezed into tight back ins. The free for all is puzzling when you first arrive (there is no room to pull a motorhome into the Outdoor Red Office after entering the Mississippi Gate -- you have to go to the campground first and cruise around for your spot). The bulletin board at the camp is worthless with no real useful information on procedures. If there is a Camp Host, they were invisible during our 10 days there and there was in indication of what site they were in to ask a question. I personally helped a bewildered after hours arrival find their way around, but no Camp Host to be seen. There is a clipboard on each site that supposedly has everyone's checkin and checkout dates, but probably half the sites didn't have this posted while we were there so I have no idea how the Outdoor Rec people are keeping track of who is where. On balance, it's not a bad deal for the area. Decently priced and safe campgrounds aren't that plentiful on the front range and this checks both those blocks. it's just irritating to see mediocrity accepted as "OK" on a military base.
