Just an overnight stay on my way up I-295, but a safe, clean, friendly place! Camp host and MWR staff friendly and courteous as always! A fairly full CG so I had to stay in spot 18 down by the nature trail (obviously it was buggy). Showered up, did some laundry, walked over for a great breakfast at the nearby golf course, fueled up on base then hit the road. A great rest stop!

Only stayed 1 day. Definitely take the Yorktown gate in. The welcome packet is extensive and comes with some discounts. If we have the chance this would be a place to give more time to.

We stayed two nights at Jacksonville RV Park, Jacksonville, Florida, in our 43' fifth wheel. Sign in at the Auto Hobby shop went easily. We were met by Rachel (one of the camp hosts) at the entrance to the camping loops. She directed us and escorted us to our site and helped get us lined up and parked. The site was gravel and fairly level with a nice patio and picnic table. Utilities were located midway on the site and worked well for our set up. The welcome folder is one of the most extensive and complete we've ever seen! Maps, Directions to area sights, menus for the on-station restaurants, just great! Laundry room was clean and centrally located and FREE! Great campground, nice location, we'll be back.

We camped at the Manatee Point Campground while reconnoitering the Jacksonville area. Both sets of camp hosts were very friendly and extremely helpful throughout or stay. We paid $31 per night for a graveled 40" pull-through space. It was not in the shade, although most of the sites did have some. The amenities were excellent, including a very clean bath house, FREE laundry, decent WiFi, and a few FREE TV channels that could be accessed without a cable hookup (how did they do that?). The camp is right on the water and there is a screened off gazebo with electric fans that was quite comfy when the humidity wasn't too high. The best way to enter the base is at the Yorktown Gate, as the Birmingham Gate is open for limited hours only. Be aware that for security reasons the route through the gate is rather narrow with speed bumps, but we were able to maneuver our travel trailer through it fairly easily. The Exchange and Commissary are about 1.5 miles away between Saratoga or Birmingham Avenue, and other places to eat on base include Dewy's, Mulligan's, and McDonald's, all along Saratoga Avenue. There are lots of things to see and do in Jacksonville, but NAS JAX is located on the southwest side of town, so getting there might involve a 15 to 30 mile drive (30 miles to the beach). Also, there are many aggressive drivers in town, and we didn't go a day without seeing a car wreck somewhere - so stay on the qui vive. We would stay at Manatee Point Campground again if we happen to return to Jacksonville.

Nice park, very convenient for accessing places of interest in the area and most base facilities of interest. Amongst which are one of the largest exchanges I've seen, fair sized commissary, and a good fitness center but no indoor track. Bath / laundry ok facilities (especially the free part) but not as immaculate as some. Fair sized sites with patio and picnic table. But seemed like most (including ours) weren't all that level. Also varying degrees of shade, not a major problem in the winter tho. Those with big rigs might feel a bit tight maneuvering but it gets done.

Nice RV Park with easy access to everything needed on base. However, security will search your RV on entry. GPS took me directly to the MWR office for check in and they had the camp host waiting for me at the campground entry. He helped guide me into a back in space and answered any questions. At night its dark but very quiet. Great walking trails and its next door to the Navy Lodge. The Marina is on the opposite side of the cove and has equipment for rent. The exchange and commissary are both well stocked and rival any Walmart. They have furniture and outdoor patio things in a building across the street. Nearby is the gas station and a large For Sale lot with several vehicles and RV's. I have already made plans to go back in October for a longer stay.

What a great park! Just the right mix of shade and open areas. Helpful, friendly camp hosts. RECYCLING bins, which are hard to find these days. Clean shower/restrooms and, wait for it...FREE laundry. I mean, who does that? Nice deck to sit outside while your clothes wash and dry. You can walk to the harbor water as well as Mulligan's bar and restaurant at the golf course. The commissary, BX and gas station are all very close by. The only thing we would change is that our site and some others have a little slope. Be ware though, that despite what usps.com says about offering general delivery at the base post office, they DO NOT. We really enjoyed our stay here.

Nice little RV park. We camped in site 8. Park roads are a bit tight and most roads are gravel. Camp host met us at the entrance and helped us park. Easy access in and out of the NAS.

Base access is easy with options to three gates during normal working hours. Washer & dryers are free, grass areas need attention. I was on spot seven, with a WiFi pole right next to the site and WiFi didn’t work, kept interrupting and you’d have to log back in. Some sites have long term residence which looks unsightly. Camp host (frank) was very helpful when setting up.

One of our favorite spots for touring and enjoying the Jacksonville area. Staff are outstanding and a pleasure to work with. Area has lots to offer. Great local restaurants. WiFi is decent ... can get overrun at peak times. No problems with normal reading the paper and checking email. Commissary is the best ever and well run.

Two hosts take weekly turns at the park but it seemed like they were always both available; they both helped back my big rig into its spot. "Tom" at MWR checkin is a great asset for the park! Also be sure to check out the romantic swingin' bench that overlooks the bay: it's just behind the screened gazebo. SPECIAL NOTE FOR FIREARMS OWNERS: you'll get directed into the visitor center where you'll sign paperwork then wait for a police escort to the Armory. Large rigs: do NOT turn right onto the dead end at the police station. Explain to your escort that you'll turn left and park on that road. Upon departure, low branches will demand you turn left on Mayport (behind the gas station), then right on Allegheny, then right on Birmingham and it's a straight shot to the MWR checkin on Jason street. Follow the same route to retrieve your weapon(s) when you're ready to leave the base. Large rigs: alert your police escort to secure the FIRST traffic cone at Allegheny & Yorktown else you'll crush it turning left.

This park was a perfect 2-day stop for us to tour Jacksonville. The staff and checkin process were were very accommodating. The site was clean and the hookups worked great. The park and the base are great. The wifi was awesome! Considering the location and the extra peace of being in a gated community (on a military base), this is a good value. We would certainly return to this park.

This was the very first RV Military park we stayed in. The amenities here are very few. Only half of the RV sites were paved. The other half of the RV sites, your RV sat in dirt. During the time we stayed for two months, every day it rained and part of RV pad was completely under water. The camp host and his wife were extremely nice and answered all our concerns. This RV park is in need of TLC. The base it self is so beautiful. The commissary was outstanding. They have a huge PX or NEX. It was brand new and had so much to offer. I miss all the good selections of great meats. The golf club is beautiful but the food is horrible and i mean horrible, the wait staff know there is a high issue and continue to serve bad food. I called the manager of the golf club to express my concerns on the wait staff and the food issue. He was aware there are issues but not to the full extent. Much improvement needs to be taken. You can stay here six months at a pop but we moved a month early so we could be closer to my work. Hopefully this place will make a great RV park someday. Never used the facilities, bathroom. The laundry room had no AC and made it uncomfortable to wash cloths in the extreme heat of summer. No cost to use the washer and dryers.

We spent the winter at NAS and the Office Staff, Tom, and the 2 Park Host, Mike and Rex, do a wonderful job. They are there to help and please and do. We have always had a great time at this park. My only complaint is with other RVrs who don't pickup after their dogs.

We spent 9 nights here. Had full-hook-up and level concrete site. Was able to get both antenna and satellite TV. Facilities were clean and laundry was free and easy to use. Close to downtown Jacksonville for touring. A very nice park, would definitely stay again.

There were no RV Park sites for my dates of visit. However, after explaining to Tom, one of the park managers, that I only wanted to park my RV for three nights while I visited friends in the area, no hook-up required, he accommodated my request. For only $10, he get me a spot in the RV Storage Lot. I ran the refrigerator on propane and was able to quickly leave when departing. I did need to check in and outs my weapon at the Armory, which does add to arrival and departure time. I did drive through the RV Park. It is clean, well maintained and looks like a really nice place to stay. I hope to make reservations early enough next time through to stay in the Park. No comment on the Amenities/Facilities as I did not use any of them.

We have stayed at NAS JAX several times and it is one of our favorite military parks. Our site was plenty long for our 42’ fifth wheel and we had lots of room to park our truck. Great wi-fi was available. No cable but our satellite system worked perfectly. Lots of areas to ride your bike on base and a nice marina. The commissary is new and huge. Office staff are very friendly and helpful. Free laundry. Base is in a convenient location to many shops and restaurants. All this for $19 a night!

Called to make tent site reservation. Person who answered the phone reported the base commander is not allowing tents in the RV park anymore. My ratings reflect on their inability to accommodate us who won't drive our house everywhere. :(
