We’ve stayed twice here. It’s nicely tucked in the midst of shady trees and located on the beach. PT & BI sites. The base itself is great with fitness centers, movie theater, small exchange, PX mall, many beach access locations, beautiful chapel, etc. Happy hour is at 4pm daily! Right across from the RV park is the Naval Aviation Museum and down the street is the Pensacola Lighthouse. We really enjoy our time here and plan to be back soon. There are hurricane-damaged cabins on the property which are an eyesore, as well as lots of overgrown brush. Laundry facilities are $1.00:load. Clean restrooms and shower. Rate was $30 which was a good value.

Last minute reservation for us on a Cross country trip. Reserved online after hours so host didn’t make the papaerwork but he was very polite and worked it all out. Our site was level campground overall has great shade coverage and easy beach access. Uber/Lift isn’t allowed on base so we used liberty 1st cab company $30 to Downtown. Local family owned very clean and nice. Laundry is coin op but unfortunately for us was out of change. We road our bikes to the lighthouse, air museum, The Fort Barracus as well as the Ski rental area and rent kayaks ($7/hour) Great little spot on the Pensacola beach.

We have stayed here many times. I love to visit the Naval Air Museum and my wife loves the beach. We have not visited for 3 years however due to covid, Hurricane Sally and the terrorist attack on base. We were disappointed to still see so much damage from Hurricane Sally. Bridges to the beach from RV park and cottages have not been repaired. There are still of debris laying around ie downed trees, branches, broken posts, rebar and seaweed on the beach. Not safe area for small kids I shouldn't think. In fact, the 2 BR cottages west of RV park are still not open due to damage. There is still a lot of debris laying around. Many of the electric plug in points on rv sites do not have covers anymore, ours included. This can't be safe. This is all despite a recent raise in RV rates. Hopefully this will all get sorted soon.

This review was left by DC - We love all the Fam Camps at Pensacola NAS. Good rates, although almost all we stayed at this year had raised their rates. Friendly managers and what a great place to visit. We will be back.

Can't say enough about this place, great spot with private beach. Clubhouse has an unofficial BYOB happyhour at 1600 every day. The private beach is nice but no swimming allowed, you have to go down to Barrancas Beach to swim. The cabins are closed due to hurricane damage. Check out the lighthouse, the Air Museum is the best I've seen and very detailed. Whiskey Joes on Pensacola Beach is delightful as well. Close to everything!

This is simply an outstanding campground with so much available to do in the area. From the lighthouse tour to the Naval Aviation Museum, there are many things to do while in Pensacola. Of course the Blue Angels flying overhead is a great addition as well. A few things, the gate you initially come in to does close nightly at 1800 so if you go out to dinner or come back after that time, you will need to access the base via the main gate. This is the 2nd time we have been here in 8 months and my only concern is access to the beach via the campground. There are still broken down fences and some have rebar close to the surface of the sand, which could cause problems if you take a walk at night. I would think by now the broken trees, fencing and destroyed wood walkway would just be removed. These are all reminders of a recent hurricane but again a day or two of work would easily remove them. We will be back again, great office staff and night hosts!

Great campground! steps away from a sugar white sand, natural preserve looking beach.trees and nice bike trail that goes all the way along the shoreline. staff is friendly, facilities clean for dog owner: Being in a grove of oak trees, there are many acorns on the ground. who loves acorns? squirrels! lots and lots of squirrels and they are used to people feeding them so they hang around your rv space - a lot. Drove our dog nuts (no pun intended) but we managed! We loved walking on the beach in the evening and at sunrise. dolphins and sandpipers were fun to watch, we even saw a bald eagle. At night an owl hooted us to sleep. The National Naval Aviation museum on base is first class - a must see! rivals the Smithsonian! The walking trails are excellent, we loved our visit 100% and hated to leave! Great cable and nominal cell service (t-mobile 2 bars). Sadly, hurricane sally did a lot of damage to the base and the facilities.

I wish we had booked several days here on on trip to New Orleans! Our site was #49 and the beach was just 2 min walk away! Level site, good power/water/sewer and cell service. The office staff and camp host were very helpful and friendly. We will try to stay here longer next year, I just didn't realize this RV campground was so nice. A bit of a drive off of I10, but well worth the drive and just follow the directions to the Naval Air Museum, too easy! We camped here in a 30' Class C motorhome.

We liked Oak Grove. In winters past, while staying at Blue Angel Campground, we had gone on base and driven through Oak Grove and didn't think too much of it BUT this time we stayed there because we had to wait about 10 days before we could get in to Blue Angel. We really enjoyed the park. So, our initial drive-thrus didn't really give us a good idea of the park. We had site 30, which is the first one at the entrance and directly across the street from the air strip where the Blue Angels practice. It was, in our opinion, the best site at the campground. For 4 or 5 days of the 10 day stay we got to sit outside on our patio and watch the Blue Angels practice and that was a real bonus! On the backside of the park is the beach. There are several sites that back up to the trees separating the park from the beach. The roads in the park are gravel and it is mostly tree covered. The sites are concrete and 40' long so there is plenty of room for RV and truck. Our water heater went out while there and we had to use the shower facilities, which were clean - certainly not new - but clean and large. The laundry facility has front load washers and huge dryers. Utilities worked fine and the park is maintained nicely. The wifi offered is gowifi (the navy's wifi) and it worked fine. We got good Verizon cell service as well. I can't comment on the feeling too close or not because we were on an end site with our social side facing the open area but it didn't seem too crowded. Overall we were very pleased and would absolutely stay there again.

Great place to visit and tour the emerald coast. First, the directions and gps coordinates are spot on. Follow them. Second, do not come in the main gate unless you have to, there are checkpoints that will be tough to navigate with your rig. The park it self is dated, but maintained, as most military parks seem to be. Cement pad for the rig, gravel roads. Sand, pine and some grass. Roads were easy to navigate. Each site had a picnic table. Most spots had plenty of room, though you can be close to your neighbors. It is very site specific. Good utilities. We had weak but usable Verizon coverage. The WiFi was good and strong, with enough band width to stream if it is a rainy day. Not all sites have an open view for satellite so be sure and ask when you reserve. Wayne, the campground host was very nice, friendly and helpful. Bathrooms were clean. Nice laundry with 6 washers and 4 big dryers. There is a community building with a bring your own happy hour. The winter snow birds and staff put on some potluck events if you are looking to socialize. There are trails to the beach, which is private, quiet an nice. Wonderful sunsets. Be sure and visit the lighthouse and aviation museum. The NEX and commisary are off base, Wayne gave us a map and directions, good place to stay.

This was our first trip to a military RV park. We recently have taken up camping again after many years of considering a cruise ship the best type of camping. I was totally shocked and thrilled about the entire trip. We arrived and the Camp Host was right there explaining the layout and giving us guidance on making our trip more enjoyable. We will never go on a cruise again. Restrooms were very clean; property was extremely clean and everyone we met were friendly. I felt like on was at home on my porch. Despite the reviews that I read prior to going, our Wi-Fi worked great. The Yurt building was really unexpected, and welcomed. I could picture myself going back many times. Thank you Camp Host for making our stay the best.

We stayed here a couple years ago and again this past week. It was good the previous stay. It was excellent this time. First off , the directions listed above bring you to the back gate, where you need to enter. Once though the gate it is a straight shot to the campground. Look for an orange and white plane on your left and campground is directly across from it. Check in was super easy and Lisa is still working in the office. Friendly, cordial and informative. Great gal! We were in site 41 near the tent camping area. Site was level, clean and plenty of space for our 38' Class A. On our previous visit the cable wouldn't work and the WiFi was iffy. This time both were working perfectly with no problems. The bathhouses were clean and kept well. A short walk through a path from the campground to the beach. One note, the commissary and exchange are off base. No complaints and will surely return.

Not quite what we expected from the photos. A little tight but maneuverable. No pull thrus. No real pet run except for path to beach. Most guests just go out to front of park along the road. The staff was friendly enough and didn’t bother us. The camp host stands watch from his MH most of the day but is friendly. No plans on staying here again. Blue Angel park seems like the better park to stay at. We checked it out and will be our choice next time. Just make sure you have reservations!

Pros: * Many spots are pull through * Super friendly Camp Host * Nice Walking Trail to Beach * Well maintained bathhouses * Easy booking, easy check in Cons: * Had a hard time finding this place, ended up driving all over the base and having to call the Navy Lodge for directions (Trust but verify your GPS) * Wifi signal is weak * Campsites feel close do to minimal tree coverage (but that helps keep down bugs) Overall a great stay, we were only there for one night. We look forward to heading back to the area to explore more of Pensacola.

We spent three days/two nights at this campground. It was our first time. We loved this place! Imagine getting up and watching the sunrise on the sand with a cup of coffee or watching a spectacular sunset over the ocean. The access path to the sand was one campsite away from ours. The campground pluses included cleanliness of the sites and bathrooms; space of and between the sites; ease of hook-up for electric, water and sewage; and the professionalism and friendliness of the staff even when dealing with unreasonable campers (as we observed first hand while waiting to register). Don't expect to show up without a reservation for this military campground (or many others) and find a space for more than one night. Plan ahead! We made our reservations early enough that we were able to secure a site by the water. The campground needs to improve WiFi access. Having to use a computer in the community room is not acceptable. It was not accessible from our site even with a WiFi Ranger signal amplifier that we have installed in our trailer. We had to use our Smartphone as a hot spot. My recommendation is to install better WiFi in the campground so people can access email, websites, and, for some of us, work. As for activities, there is a community center for folks to get together and meet other campers. There is an air museum on site as well and a beautiful lighthouse. The NAS has the usual amenities as most other bases. The Pensacola area around this base has many restaurants, shops, and other attractions for both adults and kids. This is a campground that I would return to time and time again.

It is a tough challenge to add anything new in a review for Oak Grove Park. There are many reviews that give a good explanation of the oak tree shaded, beachside park. I especially liked OLD NAVY’s review of Jan 16 -30, 2017. Oak Grove is the 2nd Navy RV Park out of 5 that we made reservations through the online system. It [reservation system] worked great, the park was ready for our arrival. Check-in was easy, friendly and informational. Like most MCG’s you get a handful of paper with various types of information - Oak Grove is no different. The green pamphlet has been the most useful one for us. It contains maps of the base and the surrounding Pensacola area. In addition to the Navy-wide reservation system, we could logon to the Navy-wide GoWiFi system using the same user ID and password we used at other Navy RV parks. There are WIFI extenders located throughout the park. We had no problems with the WIFI system and response time was good. The 40’ x 20’ cement slab should be the norm for all MCG’s. The slab is large enough for an RV with multiple slide-outs plus enough room for outdoor activities, regardless of the location of the door on the RV. The parks interior streets are gravel which cause the front end of some slabs to get a little messy when it rains. We had a great time staying at Oak Grove Park. It is quite a sight to watch the Blue Angels flying their air show routines. We will return.

My wife and I booked this campground for July 1-8, 2017. We left after the 2nd night. This was in no fault of the campground. We left because the campground is located within the guard checkpoints of the NAS and we brought our motorcycles. It was our fault for not checking on the required riding gear for the NAS. We did not have all the gear needed. That being said, the day and half we were there, the park was clean but tight with some neighbors and spots, the bath house was clean and roomy. The parking pads were concrete and level. The camp host was extremely friendly and nice. The beach is within walking distance. Signs say no swimming but there were a lot people swimming. The lighthouse and Naval Air Museum is a must see and is a nice walk from the campground. We would stay there again but only if we brought a car and not our motorcycles.
