Anyone at MacDill? Wondering if it's getting full up, or plenty of sites. Am heading to Tampa area tomorrow and will be looking for a few days there next week, mid-week or so.

Heading back in Feb .. got some family issues in the way, and ending up staying a couple weeks at the new Cape Cod MCG. It's OK, just getting started. Sites , FHU, no bath house, no laundry -- but that stuff is available on-base. Nice pads, gravel, but level and long enough for two 5er's ... might be an idea to double the spaces - cut in half, still plenty big ...
Been nearly a year. Anyone there now or been there recently? Heard via grapevine that things are still a mess. Weather related delays on work int he Annex has caused those 60+/- units to be pushed into the regualar campground.
Had planned to stop by for a couple of days but if things are a mess may be no room for a few nighter.
It appears that they started the electrical upgrade project this past spring after most winter visitors left. This includes new lighted pedestals at each site, and new substations throughout the park. They started with the annex and got that done sometime in the summer. However, Tampa was on the news this summer for record rain in July and August so that put the contractor behind. So to start this season they only had the annex (approximately 100 and maybe 100 in the main campground -- the open sites are full. About half of the campground is still closed. They were expecting to have about 50 sites open today but rumor is that is not going to happen. Then the other sites were supposed to open Dec. 1 and Jan. 1.
