We're headed back to the keys in September for a couple of weeks diving. Have there been any changes to their reservation (fist come - first served) policies? We were their last September and had a great time but are concerned with some of the updates posted since then.
I though I read that they were restricting the number of RVs in overflow and turning some away. Also, last year I was able to pre-register through the DOD Lodging/Navy Getaway site. (I realize this did not guarantee me a spot.) When I went to that site Monday it said they were not taking information for April - October.
They were only threatening to turn you away when they had all hook-up sites occupied and over 200 dry camping sites. You can call the office, but I'm sure at that time you will get something. If it's dry, it will only be for a few days.
I called the office and confirmed that their policies have not changed. I was there last September also and went straight to full hookups. The office said they don't get really full until Fantasy Fest (?) in October.
