NAS Whiting Feild

I recall hearing that NAS Whiting Field had plans to build a campground. However, I can't locate any information.

Can anyone confirm or have more info?

Seems like I did see something in the local paper, when we were in Navarre, FL (nearby) last winter, but don't recall the details.

I can sure check it out personally in November when we are back there - if you haven't heard anymore by then.

While I can't find the email now, I recall being notified (verified) that there's no military campground at Whiting Field.

Of course, let me (us) know if you discover otherwise. It's not the first time I would have received incorrect information.

Just made a quick call to Outdoor Recreation at Whiting NAS and was told that they do not have a campground now. Apparently they are working on one, but the folks at Outdoor Rec. had no idea when it might be done and didn't sound hopeful that it would be anytime soon.
