Can anyone tell me why and How the Navy has been able to open the Admiral Baker RV Park up to the Public? This makes it almost imposable for Military to get a reservation there. How has our Military lobby groups let this happen?

This isn't the only military campground open to the public. There's a few more open to the public across the USA.

I know this is a long ago subject but I work at a military golf course and I hear the same issues, why is the course open to others than DOD/Military ETC. In our case we have to "pay our own way", and if it wasn't open to others we couldn't pay the bills, then closure. "Military only" will not pay the large expense, and its prob the same for the RV parks. I to don't like it but I now have a better understanding of the issues.

My question would be: How do civilian get on base? For golf or camping without a sponsor.
Can't even imagine a carload of civilians arriving at a gate, stating they want to play golf, and drive on thru??

My guess is most golf courses, bowling alleys and clubs do not support themselves. I bet the famcamp supports itself and keeps the other MWR facilities afloat.

ALL MWR activities have turned into a "for profit" business. They are "non-appropriated" funds activities; mo longer support by our tax dollars. And yes, usually the RV Park supports many of the other MWR activities.
