Travis AFB FamCamp

One of the topics of discussion on Travis AFB FamCamp has been the camp hosts.

I received the following email today:

Today at approx 0945 a moving van entered the fam camp and stopped in front of

(the hosts) mobile home. Today is their final day. There has been temporary help in the office. They will be posting for new fam camp employees. As far as I know

(the hosts) plan on traveling in their 5th wheel.

Went and read the reviews after reading Larry's post.....from what I read, sounds like "total meltdown-burn out"....geez.....too long at camp hosting...glad we are "retiring" from Camp Hosting while we still enjoy the job.... and while folks still like us.... :lol: :lol: Hitting the road again soon....

Let me know if you ever want to host again for the summer. I usually have a dozen or so paid camp host positions available in California.

:laugh: We'll keep that in mind, Larry, but think a few years of being "just travelers" is what we need now....besides, Dock wants to see the "Bad Lands" really bad....and all those places where the cowboys live... :laugh: Thanks, will let ya' know when we're ready again...

The "fam camp nazi" is no longer here at Travis. Although they kept a tidy place, the guy WAY overstepped his bounds. For being the spouse of the manager, he acted like the fam camp police force. Which, ultimately, led to his dismissal. Let's hope the new host will apply the rules a little more evenly, and treat us all like the adults (paying customers) we are.

we have avoided it like a case of the clap for years because of not only what we read here but in other forums as well. too bad it took them so long to correct it, but we will now give it a try.

anyone know what san luis obispo and roberts charges for their little cabins ?
