VA 100% broken now to get SS was created by a Guest
I have been rated at 100% now since November.
My question is how do you get ss to agree and start paying you?
I did their online forms and saw their docs plus a shrink and they told me just because the VA says i am damaged doesn't mean they have to.
so how do I proceed. any hints or tips would be greatly welcomed

Have you been officially denied SS?
IF so, did SS give specific reasons?
SS has an appeal procedure, but if your already denied, you'll need new medical info they don't already have, or you appeal on the facts if SS made a mistake ...
Sometimes, dates of injury relative to work time effects SS eligibiltiy too.
It usually takes an extremely complete file to win, and SS looks to deny if it can - The VA looks to assist you if it can - that's a big difference in a claim.
IF you've been denied, my be a good idea to consult an attorney that specializes in SS law. Most of the time, you don't pay the attorney unless he wins your claim.

pwwerboatr,
I too am 100% VA disabled and when I applied to SS for disability I was told something like you mention above about just because the VA disables you don't mean that SS will disable you. THey don't work together and it is not automatic. In my humble opinion, the only choice for you is to hire a lawyer that specializes in SS disability. They are prepared to tell you if they can win. As a matter of fact they won't even take the case if they think that they cannot win. They don't make any money unless they win so they won't even waste time trying. All I can say is good luck and do hire a lawyer because if you don't they win.

thank you both
yes the letter was actually pretty condescending imo
but it stated they dont agree with va and they dont have to rate me disabled because the va did
i have the links on line set up to file an appeal and am working my civilian docs to make my records mirror the va on how good or bad i am physically
i shall endeavor to persevere :woohoo:
