Yo -
My first post here and I'm thrilled.

If ya object to parking in Wal-Mart, I won't cause of their employment practices and anti-union stance, other major retailers like Fred Meyer's who have many very large stores in the NW of the good old US of A will allow RV all nighters to stay in their lots. ;D

Have fun.

PS A good project for me in my retirement would be to collect a list of retailers who would willingly have military families with RV's stay over night on thier lots. I'll do it . . . and I'll post the results here first!!!!

Welcome!

I wasn't aware that many other larhe stores allowed RV's to spend the night in their parking lot. A list would be very helpful.

YEOWEE! Let's call it "Black-Top Parking". "Squatters" might also work. OOPS! Had to come back because I thought of another one, "Wind Fall Parking". May be the management will also see fit to add a few nice blue handicap spaces up front for "Squatters" only.

Be sure not to list any stores who don't have union shops or don't give all their employees health insurance ::) and, god forbid, - don't stay at any non-union campgrounds in lieu of parking lots...

I'm not sure that union/non-union is an example of employment practices. I worked several years at Meiers and their employment practices were worse than any sweat shop I've seen. If there was ever a need to unionization, that would be the place....after leaving them, I just don't shop there. If you don't like the employment practices of a particular organization, then don't camp there or shop there.
As far as I know, there hasn't been a need for union representation for active service members or national guard or reserves. Yet, it seems that we do all right in spite of it. IMHO unions have caused a lot of US jobs to go south or out of country because unions priced themselves out of the labor market...but that's just the way I see it.......

Unions -- why so?? The Unions did some great work at one time in our history -- but as a general statement, the union organizations have out-lived their original purpose and have now become another big business that often interferes with what otherwise might be a good employer/employee relationship when the owner of a company actually appreciates the work his employees do, and rewards them for it in ways not necessarily union-sanctioned or directed -- so why must we always "force" it ... that's beyond me in today's economy and work-force mentality.

The work force today are no longer ignorant puppets led to slaughter --most are well-educated and informed, and the United States is well on it's way toward a work-force package where each worker becomes an independent contractor, supplying his own insurance, his own tools, his own retirement program, and his own production levels, and even a new idea occasionally -- which will and should be rewarded for its performance rather than simply a daily appearance at the door.
