Question please was created by Chancellor
Ok I have a chance to get a 2000 Contental Safari 4006 330 cat with all the toys including hurricane
heating, new tires, leather interior, oils changed balance of warrenty with is 2years 3 months with 49027
miles. Interior is excellent with very minor things needing fixed on PDI. My list on PDI was
wipers blades, taillight bulb, lose p/s dash air needs charged. Asking price 75k I got the settlement
from my coach so I can buy it cash. Now we both love it so what I guess I am asking is your take
on it?
Thanks

The only thing negative I have heard from Safari owners are the ones that had the three point jack system. A couple of them complained that the front twists sometimes and they have had to replace the windshield (one guy twice). I don't know what years the coaches were, but I see some with the 4 legs. Hope you are looking at the 4 jack model, or make sure the dealer will stand behind a repair for their wanrranty period, also carry a low deductible for windshield replacement.
Other than that, GO FOR IT.
Glad you survived the accident and are doing well.
Pleasure to have you back.

I would do a search on the Internet, by entering year and model. We saw a 2002 Holiday Rambler, that was very nice, and the price was right. I did a search, and found, that the year and model, had serious problems with the rear detaching, while towing. Needless to say we are now not interested. Holiday Rambler used to make a great RV, until Monaco bought them out. I also found out this information, during my research. I had heard that Holiday Rambler, was a great coach, and thought so until, I realized they were now being manufactured, by someone else.
I don't know anything about the Safari, but recommend doing the research.

Up front I must admit I'm a diehard Monaco owner. Would not own any other brand. I have owned Monaco's with the four jack system and the three jack system and I would not go back to the four jacks. The purpose of the single jack in the front is for the coach to pivot on that jack while being leveled from the rear. The purpose of this is to keep from popping a windshield. The newer coaches have this huge, one piece windshield and you stand a much better chance of popping it out with the four jack system since you are more likely to twist the frame.
As to another post about HR being a lesser coach since being bought out by Monaco. Nothing could be farther from the truth. Monaco is the largest builder and seller of Class A diesel coaches, building them under the names Monaco, Holiday Rambler, Beaver and Safari. We look at the market very carefully each time we have traded coaches over the years and we never find anything that compares to the Monaco brands, especially after you factor in the service after the sale provided by Monaco Coach Corp.
