Newmar Coaches was created by catpaw51
We've been researching coaches in order to purchase a larger one for full timing. We are looking to buy preowned rig, Class A Diesel, 36-40ft. What we really want is a Foretravel, but they seem to be hard to find unless we want to pay 330K plus! The other coach that I have researched is a Newmar. All the research I have done seems to show a very positive review. Does anyone out there have any comments re the Newmar brand? Looking at quality of Rig as well as quality of service/repair, etc.
Thanks for your input!

We have just bought our second Newmar. We loved both of our motorhomes. My husband would not buy anything else. They really pay attention to detail. We have only owned gas and not diesel, my husband feels the cost of buying and repairing them is not worth the money. Now, you can get a lemon with anything, so what ever you get, check it out thoroughly.

We have owned our Newmar Dutch Star since 03, and have lived in it fulltime since April 2nd, 05, and have thoroughly enjoyed the coach. Newmar is a quality manufacturer who stands behind their products. Regarding your looking at coaches in the 36 – 40 ft range, because you will be fulltiming, I can only say buy as much coach as you can afford – 40 ft (or longer) tend to get really small as you travel down the highway(s) of life!
Good luck on your decision!

Thanks for both of the replies we've received so far! I'm glad to hear that Newmar is such a great manufacturer/coach. Also, we've heard many times about buying as large as we can afford for full timing. We are still weighing the desire to fit into smaller spaces vs the need for living space! So far we have been doing well in a 32 footer, but it has only been 10 mos at the longest stretch!

In case you have not considered a Tiffin RV I suggest you start asking Phaeton and Allegro Bus owners what they think of the quality they get for the best price out there and how superior service is at the family owned business in Red Bay, Al. The Phaeton is the No. 1 selling diesel pusher for the last several years (we had one for 4 years and loved it) and we then found a one year old Tiffin Zephyr that we have had for two years and also love it. The Phaeton also is rated No. 1 as holding its value at trade in time. We did research for one year before we decided on the Phaeton and went to the plant in Red Bay to see how they were assembled, you can walk anywhere in the plant and talk to any technicians about the assembly. Good luck on whatever you buy and safe travels.

Thanks for your input Iamsan! Yes, we have looked at Allegro Bay, we haven't looked at the Pheaton though. Will take your advice and give them a look-see
