Turning 65 in 2012. Need advice on medical. was created by farrout
My wife says we need to check out all the medicare supliment plans before we commit to Tricare for Life.
I've talked to other military retirees and have never heard that there is any other plan any better than TFL + Medicare Part B.
However, she who must be obayed needs more information.
Any suggestions on how to compare plans?
Thanks
Dennis

TFL is the only way to go. To date in five years we've not paid a dime for any medical treatment. It picks up the deductible and co-pays.

I agree, been a blessing for me. Cannot remember having to pay anything in the past five years.

Three years, two minor hospitalizations ... more than ten office visits -- cost nothing ... "0" ...nada !!
TFL is "free" (altho, we all paid, didn't we?) secondary co-pay for Medicare.
You get "standard" but it comes after Medicare, and pays what Medicare doesn't pay, and sometimes pays when Medicare does not pay anything.
Also pays prescriptions with a $5 co-pay for each month supply.
Beats anything you have to pay for, unless you can find one that "gives you back $$$"

Dennis, don't listen to she who must be obayed, listen to yourself. TFL is the best with medicare. Paid nothing in many years and many illness and hospitalizations.

Thanks for all the replies.
Another question.
Under TFL, do I still need a referal to see a specialist?
