Generator reliability

We just purchased a new 5th wheel (26ft Dutchman 24L-M5) and selling our old (2003)Pop-up to our USAF son along with our old Coleman (non-inverter) Generator. Does anyone have info on the reliability of the KIPOR generators, I find very little info as to reliability. The 3000 I'm looking at seems well built and costs around $1300.00, but I know of no one that has one to talk to about them.

Thanks for any info

I don't know, I would be a little skeptical. I just read a little bit about them. It seems it's made in China. Using my motorcycle experience as a base, alot of those products are "reverse engineered" and use a variety of parts and pieces...some very questionable and some extremely reliable. Since it's fairly new to the market I think I would spend more money for something proven with service and repair parts/shops readily availible. I'm sure that time will prove them one way or another. A few of the Chinese manufactured motorcycles have proven to be a reliable, low cost alternative to the more expensive and established makes. But service and parts still haven't expanded into the market to where they're "common" and readily availible.

Here's the "google search results" I just sorta scanned through....hope it helps.

have one and use it quite a bit when boondocking, out here in Utah. It is very reliable and REAL QUITE, which is what every one loves. Had a 6500 Coleman and used it two years and everyone in the country side would cheer when we shut it off. have the KIPOR now and would not trade it for any thing and is cheaper than the Honda

I just bought a Honda 2000i after many months of "investigating". I found the most detailed info avail on the discussion site "RV net". Literally thousands of pages on everything you'd ever want to know about generators, brands, sizes, etc.
