Downloading software on Desktop for Laptop
I'm planning to buy and download your software package.
The question I have is can it run my on desktop after download as well as my laptop on the road?
The real question is can I legally use it on my two computers?
2nd Question
I see I must re-subscripe each year to use the software.
If I don't will it still work with whatever datbase it has at that time?
Thanks and youare doing a great job/service to everyone for maintaining the database and website.

1) The End Users License Agreement (EULA) does allow a private owner to operate the Directory software on two computers that you own.
2) The download version (currently $11.95) of the Directory software requires an active subscription to work. It will stop working after one-year, unless the subscription is renewed (currently $8.95).
The CD-Rom version (currently ($19.95) will always work using the most current database. The subscription is optional, but allows the database to be updated monthly. Optional renewals are also currently $8.95.
I appreciate your support, as sales and subscriptions to the Directory software is what keeps this website operational (and still free).

If you buy the CD version, it is forever working with whatever is on it when you get it.
AND, with the subs version, it updates the CD monthly, or the PC monthly?
I bought the program once before - can't find it, actually not sure if I got the online or CD - cloudy brain from too much camping. But have been thinking about buying the CD version again and keep it on PC and not need internet.
But, if the CD is in PC, then we don't need internet to access the info, is that accurate? Thanks

I think you got it right.monkey44 wrote: Not sure I understand exactly this info ...

The CD version will work forever with whatever the last update to it was. When you first purchase the CD version, it includes a one year subscription to get the downloaded monthly updates. When the subscription expires, the CD version of the Directory software will continue to work, but not be able to get any more updates (unless the subscription is renewed). Note the CD itself isn't updated - it's a downloaded update to the software installed on your computer. The Directory software is installed on your computer, not ran directly from the CD.
For both versions, you DO NOT need the Internet. This was one of the primary reasons for the Directory software. You can get the campground information without having an Internet connection. Everything works without an Internet connection, except two features: 1) you can't get the monthly update, and 2) the maps don't work.
You can take a "test drive" with the 7-day free trial. It's 100% functional for 7 days. You can get the trial and other information here.
Your purchase and subscription to the U.S. Military Campgrounds Directory software helps support the operation of this website AND it's updated monthly!

But often, in the areas where there is no ISP, we start to make some plans, and oppps, no MCG.
So, can you tell me if I got the CD?? Can you tell that? If so, I'll find it and update it, if not, will do CD instead of online. Matter of fact, was gonna do it in person last year, if you remember, but we missed where you were and took some other routes.
So, let me know as we're planning another trip and will get this set up soon - thanks
