Just wondering which of the generators, listed below, that you all have for dry camping. We are wanting to do Key West, this year and are trying to prepare for the trip. www.wisesales.com/generators-1/honda-gen...honda-eu-series.html
Thanks,

If you just want minimum power to run small items and charge battery, the 1000w is enough. If you want to run Air Conditioning unit, it will take either the 2000w combo or the 3000w unit. Even with the 2000w unit set-up, it will take some modifications to the unit (quick start capacitor, etc) to allow the 2000w set-up to run an AC unit effectively.

Hmmmm... Allegeney String Band?? Did you play at the Kings Bay Sub-base in Georgia a couple years ago, NY Eve?

Yamaha makes a 2400w unit that will run AC a bit better ...

Yes, we did play at Kings Bay for New Years Eve a couple years ago.. :) I'm not sure how to change our picture and I should because the kids are grown now and they are no longer playing.
Thanks for the info on the generator.. We were thinking we may need one if we go to the Keys this winter.. We have never been there so just reading from others..
Thanks,
Jackie

Depends where you're staying, and what you're driving/towing?

We've often thought about a generator as well, but we've been on the road cross-country for about four months this time, so far - and no generator. We stay not longer than about three or four days without power, then find a CG with HU's and charge up fully.

Do you stay in military CG's? Are you retired military?

Can't tell you anything about the keys, only done it once, so am completely unfamiliar with any CG's on that route.

Yes, we stay at military campgrounds as much as we can. Hubby is retired Army but a Marine first during Vietnam. He put in almost 37 yrs.. We LOVED the military life.. Such an honor to be able to serve this great country as a family.
We are on the road full time now as we jsut sold our farm in Pa. We are in NH now and on our way to Fl in a couple of weeks to pick up the new rig. Then we are going to Charleston SC for awhile. We have never been there. Thinking of Foster Creek Famcamp..
