Campground Access for Fiance'

I'm retired USAF (MSgt) and my live-in companion is a civilian. Marriage is not an option as it would cost her a hefty pension left by her deceased husband, which she would lose upon remarriage. I am nearly 72 and she is 75. We bought a 27' travel trailer and would like to travel the USA via FamCamps. Sigsbee Naval Station in Key West was not a problem. However, MacDill Gate personnel want her to have an ID card. We fear that same issue will occur at other FamCamps. Does anyone know of a way for a "fiance'", or to be truthful, a "common law wife" to get some sort of limited ID card for the purpose of gaining access to FamCamps? Thanks you for your time. I would try going to the welcome center or security office. They are usually located right outside the main gate. They should be able to give her a temporary pass as long as she has a valid state or government ID card. Good Luck

From what I have seen, a driver licenses for her as long as you have your military ID card should get her into the famcamp or the base.

I would think that most any type of government issued photo ID would work...drivers license, passport card etc. They just want to ID the person entering. Many times they are only interested in the driver's ID.

I agree with the previous posts. They don't want a military ID, just some sort of government issued ID, drivers license etc.,. Most states will issue you an ID even if you don't drive. Now with that being said, she will still have to be with someone who has a military ID to enter the installation. A temp pass may be an option.
