MWR Guest Card

MWR Guest Card was created by bsilver
I just became aware of the MWR Guest Card that allows civilians to use MWR facilities at NAS Corpus Christi, especally the campground.I feel this is a slap in the face to all who earned the right to use military facilities by staying in the militayr long enough to retire. If civilians can now use these facilities just by paying a ten dollar fee(good for three years)it seems that I and thousands of others have just been told that our service to this country is now worth $3.33 a year.Am I looking at this wrong ?I just feel this is another effort of some in leadership as trying to be "pals" to those who did not earn the right to the benefits.I wonder if a vet tried to reserve a space at NAS C.C. and all sites were taken if they would ask the civilian to leave so the vet would be able to use the benefit he fought for.

A slap??? How about a 2"x 4" upside the knoggin!!!. I don't have a problem with a guest or family memeber on space A. But I can't go along with this.

MWR Guest Card without a military sponsor? How do they get on base without a sponsor? What kind of fees are they paying in the campground? This is wrong in so many ways and at times you cannot get into a military campground and now this is starting. How were you made aware of this bsilver?
