Bought an 82 Prevost and converted it into my wife's "Traveling Beach Cottage". We ran away from home one week short of a month ago to go full-time. If you see us, say hi. As of now, we're lower Texas bound this winter. Who knows....

Welcome to the website and have fun on the road! We just had our 10-year anniversary of traveling fulltime in our motorhome.

The only thing wrong with being retired is that you never get a day off!
Welcome Tweedro!
If you're heading down to south Texas for the winter, check out the Mission, TX area. I wintered there this past year and it seemed like a lot of the traditional snowbird campgrounds had a lot of openings. The one I stayed at lowered their price to $250 a month, plus electric. Lots to do in the area. Whatever you decide, safe travels and have a great time!

Welcome! If you have to move after a certain amount of time I recommend a stay at the Lake Nasworthy camp ground which is run by Goodfellow AFB in San Angelo, TX (about 90 miles south of Abilene). When we were staioned there we would get away for long weekends to the rec camp. It is nicely situated on a constant level lake and off the base (with its' own gate). GAFB has a commissary, exchange and Class VI and San Angelo offers some unique views into West Texas.
I put the fun in dysFUNctional.

Can you recommend other good Military, State and other RV Parks in Texas? Never camped in that state. This Lake Nasworthy campground sounds good, how many sites and are they hard to get a space in?

West Texas at Fort Bliss has a real nice Fam Camp which is off base. The Rec house is the best I have seen since traveling for the past year. I would love to see what you did with the old bus! I used to drive for Coach America! I will be in the San Antonio area around the 17 of Nov for about three weeks. Welcome to the world of RV'ing.
