Electric plugins tight, but water spigots are so low (2 inches above ground) that water regulator or filter cannot attach. Verizon cellular with two bars or so, but the free WiFi hits 8mps maximum. There are more than the eleven RV sites, with the new area providing LONG pull in sites. Electric 50/30 amp at all RV sites, but RV sites 1-19 have only water/power ($27/night); RV sites 20-30 are FHU ($30/night). Discount of $5 per night with Golden Age Access Pass or "America the Beautiful" National Park Pass. Monthly cost is $650 for RV sites 1-19, and $800 for FHU at RV sites 20-30. Some of the tent sites have electric. Code for the bath house and laundry is available from the check in or the camp host. Concrete picnic tables with fire ring at each site.
Our second time at Holdbrook Pond. Has everything we needed. FHU. Level. Quiet. Free laundry. This is like a nice wooded state park with FHU. It is a little drive into Savannah but so much nicer camping than at Lotts Island at Hunter Field nearer to Savannah, even if you could get anyone at Hunter Field to answer the phone. We'll stay here again when in the area.
We live in Central Florida so this campground is the perfect distance to stop on day one of our cross-country trips. The area is beautiful with tall trees and a wonderful lake. The free laundry had new high grade washers and dryers. The bathrooms were clean and well maintained. The MWR staff was very friendly and helpful. There isn't much space for a large RV to park for check in but the kind gentlemen from MWR guided me as I backed my 38" class A out of the parking lot. Upon arrival we weren't aware we needed a rabies vaccination record for our dog. The staff allowed us to set up our site and provide the documentation when we were finished. The campground, although somewhat rustic, is very clean and well maintained. The distance between sites is awesome and each has a fire pit. As we drove in, I was using Wayz for driving directions on my iPhone connected to a WiFi hotspot. I lost all connectivity as we drove past Wright Airfield (luckily I printed the driving directions from this webpage). But once we were on our site we had no issues with hotspot WiFi or cell phone service. When we were here it was very peaceful. This was our first visit here but will definitely be back.
