Visited the beach and cottages to learn more about them. I updated the information on this site and loaded several new photos. The beach and parking lot was extremely busy, but it was a Sunday afternoon with great sunny weather. The cottages are located directly on the beach and are "somewhat" controlled to prevent non-guests from getting near the cottages or the beach in front of them. There seems to be a theft problem in the parking lot. However, cottage guests park behind a secure fence and gate. If staying in a cottage, you'll be given an access code/key to get into the private parking area by the cottages. Half of the cottages are located in way area and the other half are down the road at Nimitz beach. Both areas are surrounded by a fence and require the access key to park near the cottages. Each cottage pretty much has their own separate beach only feet from the front of the cottage. Most of the cottages are starting to show their age, but some look new.

I thought to let everyone who visits Hawaii about this place. I was stationed at Barbers Point for 8 years and spent a total of 17 out of 20 years in Hawaii. When I was there the Cottages were located right on the beach by the Coast Guard area. The cottages were nice and clean and it was nice to be able to sit out on the porch and see the ocean. The camping sites were limited to primitive, as in, tents and self contained small trailer if any at all. These were also located close to the beach but within the trees. It is beautiful simple because there isn't a lot of traffic there. Honolulu is within 30 minutes and there is a waterpark in Kapolei and shopping centers close by. I hope it hasn't changed for I would love to go back.
