Stayed one week to see the sites of Chicago. Price $18. per night for 30 amp and a great view of the lake. Very hard to find the first time and roads are tight. Coming in you will pass a ton of gates on the right, keep going toward the lake on highway 137 (Buckley) which will do a half circle (stay in the right hand lane) and then turn into the main gate on Farragut Ave. Navy Gateway Inn is hard to find too but there is rv parking right out front. We were here into November and the Marina has potable water and a very long hose inside their garage doors but you need to go there when they are open. Dump in marina parking lot is difficult to get rv close to. Laundry inside marina building was $1.50 wash, $1. to dry. Nice base to see the kids in training and the sites of Chicago (would highly recommend the weekend unlimited Metra pass for $8.) and the nearest Metro is walk-able or park for $1.50 for all day. Campground seems to be an afterthought - no water, sewer, back in sites without thought of highlighting the view of the lake, concrete pad sites but lawn very mushy even after sunshiny days, must drive to marina, potholes, mud, and 14 of 20 sites seem to be occupied by long termers. Feel bad about saying this but not sure if we would come again.
