Before any other comments there are two important things reviewers need to know: 1. If you call the Navy's toll-free NAVYBEDS number for reservations, they will tell you the NAS-CC campground is closed due to COVID. That is incorrect; the campground is NOT closed. Call the extensions ending in 94 or 95 so you can speak to a person (vice voicemail greeting) and they will help you. Super friendly and supportive! 2. As other have commented, the Site...
I confess that I’m confused about all the positive reviews for this RV park. Please note that there are two RV parks aboard NCBC Gulfport—a “front” one and a “rear one.” I’ve hear the terms “old” and “new” used interchangeably, so I can’t tell which, if any, old/new term applies to which park. The “front” park (which is where we stayed) is nothing more than a large parking lot with concrete pads laid out for RV sites. Each site is...
We read the FamCamp description which stated first-come/first-serve and offered overflow camping if full. We spent three hours driving there, arriving early in hope for a FC/FS site. A very pleasant first-time experience in this campground. I absolutely will return. Having read previous posts I was pleasantly surprised to NOT find grumpy, unhelpful management. The staff that runs the facility could not be friendlier or more accommodating. My only dings on amenities/facilities, and thus the reason for four stars instead of five, are (1) No WiFi in the campground and (2) Office hours. It is hard to reconcile an "Outdoor Recreation Facility" that limits its hours to 0800-1600...
As with a previous reviewer, we too had problems with the office staff. We called ahead on a Saturday and were told that, although full on Saturday (no surprise), it would be "wide open" upon our arrival on Sunday. When we did arrive Sunday afternoon, we saw that 8-10 sites were vacant. Upon check-in, we were told to occupy either site 30 or 31, where are in the far rear loop of the campground, adjacent to the bath house. We...
