I appreciated the previous review. I had no idea that water was not available at the campsite. I arrived with a full tank of fresh water and empty holding tanks. Check-in was fine. The young lady at the Navy Lodge was courteous and familiar with RV check-in. Just follow the directions provided on this website for the main gate and then the map you can download here. We really enjoyed our 6 night stay. Excellent location for touring around Colorado Springs. Really enjoyed Old Colorado City which is in Colorado Springs city limits. Ate at Amanda's Fonda in Old Colorado City. Outside seating on the creek. Food was really good, great margaritas. PX and Commissary were in full operation. Got a decent haircut on base. We had a great experience here. Stopped here for two days on our way to south Texas for the winter. Ended up adding a third day. We found the gate personnel (one SeaBee and one civilian) to be extremely courteous. The base sticker on the motorhome was expired, but only had to show ID's. Drove a little further this day to stay at Barstow. Left TN and headed up the coast through CA, OR and WA. This park is very easy to access from I-40. Civilian gate guard was very cordial.
