My second time here. Plenty of room between sites. RV pads are asphalt, somewhat level. Bathrooms are very clean. At $18 a night can’t beat the price. Cleaning stations for razor clams or fish. Good breakfast at the cafe. Their clam chowder is excellent. Not much to do or see in the area. A great place for relaxing.
Beautiful campground. Lots of privacy, wooded. Stayed in W/E 30 amp site on the bayou. Quiet at night. Sound of freedom noise during the day. Staff at check-in were friendly. Dick the camp host was very helpful. Roads are a little tight in some areas, watch your turns. Supposedly there are plans to add sewer connections to all sites. Would stay again.
It's all about location, location, location! In 20-30 minutes or less you can see a lot. Doc the camp host very friendly and helpful. Wouldn't hurt for him to clean up the area round his site. The park was a former mobile home park. One section of the park is for long term. Sites are large, place is quiet. Grass was overgrown. Contract crew showed up the morning we left to mow the grass. Beware of fire ants! Visit ITT/MWR...
Stayed here 1 night, traveling with 2 other rigs. Back-in I used was spacious. Other rigs used the pull throughs which were gravel. New pull throughs were not yet complete. Looked like concrete work was the only phase left. Close to Mt. Rushmore. Attended an evening presentation there which honors veterans. All are invited on stage to participate in colors. Very moving.
Haved stayed here several times. Busiest I have seen it. All sites full, several rigs dry camping. Glad I made a reservation. Great location. Spaces tight.
A well kept military secret! Great location, close to Flagstaff, Sunset Volcano National Monument and Wupatki National Monument. All sites are back in, but spacious. Host was very friendly. A PX on wheels near the Main gate. Only has snacks and basic toiletry items. Understand that base is busy mid-May through Sept. with National Guard troops. Easy to locate, no obstructions at the Main Gate. Receptionist at check-in lacked people skills, very unfriendly. Sites are large, and plenty of space between sites. The big negative is the wind! Water heater wouldn't stay lit the last morning there. The free laundry that we were informed about when we called for reservations was a bust - 2 washing machines and only one worked. New section is not open yet. Outdoor recreation employee said the new sites "have not been released yet". He hoped that they would be within the next week. I requested a pull through site, and was told that only back-in's were available. Upon arrival at the Famcamp saw that only 2 pull throughs were occupied. The road in front of the pull through sites is in need of repair. The new sites look fine,...
Second time staying here. Campground host Gil is friendly and helpful. Always enjoy the free movies, and Sunday breakfast at the chow hall. Sign at the main gate directs RV's to an inspection lane. I entered the lane, and the guard asked me why I came in this way. I told him that the sign pointed me to this lane. He grumbled, and said to use the main entry point. Great place for sunshine...
My first visit to Clear Lake, plan on coming back. Great location, a fisherman's paradise. Close proximity to many great lakes to fish in Eastern Washington. Staff is friendly and courteous. Spaces are a little close, have stayed in tighter quarters though.
New section is fine, all pull-through with plenty of room between sites. Older section is overgrown, long-term residents here. Some RV's appear to be abandoned. Being close to the highway, road noise is a problem. Can't beat the price though. Good location for visiting wineries. Close to 200 in the area. Plus a couple good olive oil places. Also a great little air museum at the Paso Robles airport. Worth the visit, plus it has quite a car collection there....
Second time here. Good location for me, about 9 miles from my son in Long Beach. Check-in was fine, very pleasant young man at the desk. During my stay did not see any person who could be the manager. Obviously several "long-term" residents. A few sites had piles of personal belongings sitting outside the RV's. Some I would consider to be trashy looking. One site near me the travel trailer left, and an old camper...
