This was our first stay here. Had an good visit with family and friends. Had been stationed in the area during the late '60s. The prices were much higher and traffic much worse on base too. Roads on base were in poor repair and markings virtually non-existent. The famcamp and restrooms were clean and yard well maintained. Staff was friendly and helpful. This facility is awesome, Diana and Edward were very helpful and responsive to our needs. The bath house was clean and neat. The only drawback was the lack of shade. The afternoons were very hot and a shady area would have been a good respite from the sun.
A great famcamp. The staff is courteous and helpful. The laundry facilities are clean and fairly priced. The area next to the road in the back of the park (sites 60 plus) a have quite a bit of road noise. However with the a/c running it is not to bad. We had the wonderful opportunity to stay at the rec camp during the Fourth of July celebration. While very crowded, the facility was very pleasant and the staff was cordial and helpful. The bath house and extra porta-pottie facilities remained fairly clean due to the staff's attention to cleanliness. Overall, my family and grandchildren had a wonderful time. Keep up the good work and thanks for a wonderful camping experience.
We're on the road and have tried to contact host and left several msgs several days in a row and no calls were ever returned. Guess we'll bypass this park and look for one that will answer calls and take reservations. US Navy retiree
As a retired sailor and disabled vet, I have stayed at the camp many times over the years. I have had issues in the past and they ALL HAVE BEEN CORRECTED within a reasonable period of time, usually the same day. Excellent famcamp. Close to lake with lots to do. Stays full most of the time and overflow is adequate. Campt staff does a good job taking care of you and answers questions and give good directions. Easy to explore San Angelo and even though the camp is off base, Goodfellow is not to hard to find. I'm told 50amp is on the way. I think services should see a need to expand camp site...
