Great improvement to the road into the campground area since we were here last year. Recently new blacktop on all of the roads in and around the camping area. The outbound gate area is under construction, at the Shiloh gate, but the inbound gate is the same as it has been for years. Oversized rigs are told on signs to stay right and a guard will come out and make life a little easier. As always a very nice campground...
Great FamCamp. All around great service from the folks At the welcome office, to the guys filling propane tanks...at a very reasonable rate I might add. We were told at check in that the wifi is undergoing an update and they are testing some systems to see what will work best at the most reasonable cost to all involved. We were directed to Rammport Hall to use the internet at their business center. We did that the first morning then...
Great FamCamp. Stayed here 3 nights. Very large concrete pads, great laundry facilities. Very close to PX and Exchange. Car wash was great also. Watch diesel prices in town. Range from $3.74 to $3.62 per gallon. Gas Buddy helped a lot. Will stop here again if we are ever in the area.
Like many earlier reviews.....a great value for $8.50.....but I have a real issue with the water connections. The site #10 water box would not turn on with the "key" provided by the billeting office, but the camp host had a 4 way key that worked. He suggested running some water before hooking up my hose, which I do all the time, but.....with the connection below the level of the box top I had to connect my hose to the connection...
Stayed here again for location near St. Louis and family and friends in the area. Wifi at the library worked well. Great commissary and bx. We will be back next week on our way back home.
Stayed here a full week to visit family in the area and it worked out just great. Family members were allowed to come into the campground with no hassle at all. Very neat Air Museum just outside the Pax River Naval Air Station gate. An hour and a half ride to get to DC to see a baseball game. Wifi for $14.95 a week worked pretty well. We found the folks in the office to be...
Great campground for the money to use as a base to seee all of the Washington DC sights. Folks in the office could not have been more helpful.....explaining the location of the Metro rail system, offering Metro rail passes with money already on them. Passes that other folks had left.....we paid forward...left more on the card than was there when we started, and they worked great. Laundry facilities were ok, and free ice machine was a great addition....
An OUTSTANDING FamCamp. All over VERY clean, Free laundry, WiFi available, ROOST building open with 2 big TV's till 10:00. Super scenery with the St Johns River to Jacksonville port right in front of the campground. Art is a great host. We will be back to Pelican Roost for sure.
Great FamCamp we used as an overnight stop on our way to Florida. Park host explained that WiFi and cable TV is in the works and perhaps adding sewer to the gravel campsites too. For $12.00 a night ...well worth the 11 miles off of I40. We will be back on our next trip thru Little Rock.
Back again for 3 nights as a shakedown trip for this year. Great campground, great folks as host...hostess...Overall a great 4 day visit. Only downside is the cramped sites, but folks around us were easy to get to move vehicles so we could get in and out.
A great Famcamp. We have used 3 in our 3 week trip and enjoyed Tinker as much or more than the other 2. The sites are a little snug to back into but really had no problems. All concrete pads, great bathhouse and laundry,,,AND,,,,FREE ICE IN THE LAUNDRY ROOM. We will be back to Tinker in the future for sure.
Arrived after 5:00 on Sunday. Went thru Navy Rd. gate showing ID cards only...NO PROBLEM. Found info in the mailbox at park entrance. Tried calling the info #...No answer. Found an empty site, got set up, and went to REC CENTER building to get registered. SO FAR...SO GOOD. Got up Monday morning and went grocery shopping and got back to the base showing ID's like we have done all week at another base Famcamp. This time I was directed to...
Stayed at Scott 4 nights last week with overall GREAT PLEASURE. There were a couple hiccups with water connection hookup issues and had to move 2 times...but overall...for the price.....I'll be back for sure. Also would be nice in this day and time to have wifi available.
