Mark is a super host. He was there every time you needed him. He answered all our questions and knew a lot about the camp ground. We have traveled all over and Camp Atterbury is by far the best .
We have stayed here on numerous occasions and are hesitant to stop on our way south because of the location and the lack of services. The price is way too expensive for the amenities. There is little to no television reception and no wifi. There was no cell service. We had to go about five miles to use our phones. We have always commented on the cleanliness of the laundry and bath facilities but this time it...
This campground has lost its charm. No WiFi, no laundry area, cell service has always been touch and go. MWR has not been on top of things here.
When did the "R" in MWR stand for residential? The Fam Camp is no where to raise a child. There were so many campers there that the campground looked like a housing area. Children's toys, bycycles and storage under campers everywhere. There are hardly places to eat nearby and the dining facility does not allow retirees to eat there, but the place is empty on the weekends. How does this campground get by without a camp host? We were...
We have been coming here for the last four years and this year by far the worst. Since they moved the Famcamp office to Outdoor rec the organization is terrible. I never saw in the past the list for moves not being updated by 1700. I don't know what happened to the old camp hosts but there is no organization this year. Moving from full to dry camp should not take two hours. Fifteen people...
This Fam camp is very nice. The Air Force could do a so much better job at maintaining this campground. The facilities are not enough for the amount of campers paying to stay in dry camp and parking lot. The firing range in the middle of the Fam Camp is a bit scary. The location is exceptional and the view is breath taking. The hosts are very friendly and helpful. I totally enjoyed my month...
My wife and I are on a month long trip away from the Michigan snow and cold. We tried to get a camp site at Ft Stewart as I was stationed here about 17 years ago. I was told that there were no empty sites available but when we drove through on the 27 of January we counted six sites empty. It appears that Ft Stewart is holding for friends and relatives. We seen the camp...
We were hoping to escape the cold weather and snow in Michigan, but we arrived to thirty degree temperatures and eight inches of snow. Just bad luck. The facility is very new. They have the largest concrete pads we have ever seen. Located near main post, but far from MWR, the place to pay for your camp site. All the post facilities are nearby. The fact that they have a new bathroom facility and laundry...
My wife and I camp at Camp Carlson a few times a year. This is a very nice campground and very clean. The staff is both helpful and friendly. Our most recent trip was the past January 2011. We spent two nights there and was very satisfied. They have the cleanest restrooms we have ever seen. The only bad thing is the television reception and the distance from main post facilities.
