We are a 45 foot motorhome towing a jeep. We stayed in the new sites. Narrow or tight is an understatement. I'm surprised that for a newly build section that they made the sites so narrow. For example, with out driver side slide open, our neighbor had to move his picnic table really close to his rig because there was not enough room for anybody to sit on the side closest to us. On...
We are a 45 foot motorhome towing a jeep. We arrived on the Sunday after Thanksgiving and there were lots of spaces available. Weekend arrivals are handled by the camp host in space 5. We picked a site and that was it. Monday we went by the office just to make sure our credit card information was up to date. Weekends, the Westminster Gate is closed, so you will have to go in the main gate. The...
We are a 45' motorhome towing a truck Big changes. The overflow sites are now directly across from the newer pull thru sites, just east of the child care center. Nice sites, but a big rig might have trouble getting in as the access is narrow. Changes being made to the Patriot Gate (the one next to the famcamp), but hard to tell exactly what they are doing. It looks like they are installing barriers that big rigs towing...
We are a 45' motorhome towing a truck. Directions are good and easy to follow. There is enough room by Gate 3 to pull in and be off the highway so no need to park by the side of the road when you call for security. The camp hosts could not be nicer. They keep the sites up and grass cut. I was told that there are free washers in the same office where you goo to sign in...
We are a 45' motorhome towing a truck. This is our third year at Cliffside. We drive over 1500 miles to visit here which should give you an idea of how much we like this place. We called ahead (I suggest between 12 noon and 1 PM) and ask for your site #. You should be able to unhitch at the big park on the way in (Saratoga Street). It makes it much easier as there is really no...
We are a 45 foot motorhome towing a truck. The entrance is a straight shot, no concrete barriers to have to weave through. Once through the gate proceed straight ahead and up the hill until you see a building on the left with three flag poles, marked welcome and billeting. There is a big space directly across where the largest rig towing can pull in. Easy check in at Billeting, where we were given a key to unlock the...
We are a 45 foot motorhome towing a vehicle. We came in on a Sunday and the only entrance was through the main gate by the RV Park. Getting up to the entrance was pretty easy. There are three lanes. Typically though, two of the lanes are closed, so everybody narrows down to one lane. That was the easy part. Be advised that there are concrete barriers beyond the entrance and we could not make it through them without...
This is our first time here. We are in a 45' motorhome towing a truck. We parked across form the Billeting Office (well marked - you can't miss it) and unhitched. If you are a big motorhome towing, I suggest unhitching before you head to the campground. There is plenty to do in the area, ranging from Morro Bay, to Hearst Castle (about a 45 minute drive), to a 300 year old mission (still holding mass) in SanLuis Obispo....
We had hoped that when the price went up from $30 to $40 a day that the money would be put towards repair of sites and general maintenance, but no such luck. One of the laundry rooms is closed because a washer has been broken for some time, grass is not regularly trimmed and the bushes that had been cut back two years ago are again beginning to clog the spaces where you walk dogs. The screen that had...
Rates have gone u to $40.00 a day, but still beats anything around in terms of price. Free laundry, nice sites, easy access, well cared for grounds. There were some comments about homesteaders have moved out, but still saw some sites which have clearly been occupied for extended periods. I think that what is happening is that folks simply move to a new site. As long as folks who come for a few days or weeks can get reservation,...
May 25, 2019. We are staying at Sea Breeze RV Park and decided to drive over and look at the new RV Park. I called and was told rates were $33.00 per day. We found W/S/E at all sites. Pads are concrete. All sites are back in and most sites are too short for 40 plus foot RVs and the road through the park is too narrow for a large rig to maneuver. Looked like 2 or 3 sites...
We are a 45 foot motorhome towing a truck. We planned to arrive on a Sunday and were not sure which gate owuld be open, so we called and were told both Westminster and Forrestal. We prefer Westminster because it is bigger. Unfortunately it was closed so we went to Forrestal. The clearance on that gate is VERY tight. (If any of you have ever been to Kirtland and tried the Eubanks gate, this is worse.) Main office is...
we are a 45 foot motorhome towing a truck. We followed the directions and had no problem getting on base. We were asked if we had any weapons and that was it. It was possible that we were not inspected because of construction at the entrance. Check in was easy and getting into our space was a breeze. There are two lounges, one for children and one for adults, both in good condition. BX and Commissary are nice sized...
Two Big Changes 1. Charles Porter Gate is now 24/7. It used to have short weekday hours and was closed on the weekends. 2. Water view sites are now $36.00 per night. No weekly or monthly discounts. All the great comments made by others still applies. Love this place!
Ellsworth continues to be a nice place to stay with friendly staff and nice sites. We are a 45 foot motorhome towing a truck so we prefer the new sites which are long enough to fit the motorhome AND the truck with room to spare. Also, I like the utility setup at the new sites versus the old. In addition, some of the hookups in the older area are not lined up well and you have to stretch your...
We are a 45' motorhome towing a truck. In the past we were just skinny enough to use the Eubanks gate, but decided to try the Truman gate. The gate is several inches wider than Eubanks, so passage was easy. Not so easy though for long rigs like ours are two of the left turns from a two lane to a two lane road.. If there had been traffic on the street we were turning into, people would have...
