I was able to stay an extra day normally it is 14 days but on the off season you can stay longer if there is opening. I enjoyed the hospitality, the Atlantic Ocean which is only about 75 yards with swimming, sunning, surf fishing (10 days for 10 dollars) or you can fish off the pier in the Intercoastal Waterway the PX/Commissary is great with plenty of activities right on the base. I would mention the WIFI is not working well...
This is in a nice area with lakes, ponds, trails, West Point close by, and views, but for the price (daily only with no discounts) you get no sewer, cable, wifi, but there is a bath house and laundry with a dump site when you need it. The place is very clean and a nice shoppette of sorts with bait. Enjoy.
When you come here you know you are in the boondocks so with that said there is no TV, Phone, Internet, the showers are cramped if you are much over 150lbs, no sewer but there is a dump station, the water connection is in the front on the opposite side of the trailer so have about 40ft of hose now I digress this is a beautiful place right next to a lake with swimming, fishing, canoeing and trails so with...
This is a very out of the way location but near the Lake/Commissary/Bx with Adirondack Mtns close by there is no Cable but you can get about 10 channels but my complaint would be there is no control on the animals and found it difficult to believe the waiting list for family's. I had a family with 4 children next to me in a 30ft trailer from 8 to 6mths but did notice that there was new rv spots with...
First off the price of 60 dollars a week is hard to beat so I tolerated the fact that my faucet didn't work and two days later I got a splitter to connect into and had to run over 80ft of hose or that of the only 6 spots 3 where homesteaders that were waiting for housing or that my homesteader next to me had 3 dogs of which two where over 100 pounds and not ONE time did I...
I had a very pleasant time here...was raining and windy with a touch of cold which is how I like it...the base has all you need..the laundry and lounge was a plus...will be back.
My comment is short and sweet...I was to stay a month but left after 18 days. First and last time for me. I went to Beale Famcamp and that was pleasant.
I stayed her in Nov 2010...I didn't expect much for the price but realized I had made a good choice..altho there is not alot of accommodations close by there is everything you need including free laundry..I would have no problem going back.
I have to agree with the other inputs this is a great place in which you can give five stars to even the amenities cause you know what you getting in to as far as dry camping..when I first came here I thought there was alot of congestion but from 9am to 3pm you can go anywhere without much hassle even to the activities ie Zoo, Museums etc. then again after 6pm. The free movies (up to date at that)...
The host is very upbeat and helpful I almost felt like it was a resort at time's with the activities, but feel the laundry should have been open longer and not shut down along with the facilities for women's night, of course I could be thinking wrong. You have to go off base to get any mail other than UPS/FedEx which is brought to the park.I did however enjoy the price and able to eat at the galley. I will...
