BIG RIGS: DO NOT COME IN EUBANKS GATE! There are rigs in the park right now with damage from coming through Eubanks. By 'big rig', we mean anything over 25'! We have a 40' 5th wheel and came in Truman, which is the current commercial gate. We followed google maps on phone and the route avoided all traffic on base. From I-25, Exit 222/Gibson Blvd SE, follow signs for airport. Turn right at Truman St SE and gate is...
Great location makes the $30/night easier to take. (Just used to $18-20/night at most military campgrounds across the USA!) Nice campground. We have a 40' 5th wheel, which fit onto the pad, but the Ram 3500 dually had to be parked elsewhere. No way was it going to fit. It was also a little tight getting out of our spot, but still doable. Free internet worked well and took advantage of the free laundry. When we arrived, we had...
Will definitely come back!!! 15 mins from Flagstaff, less than 90 mins from Grand Canyon, Camping World right outside base and truck stop at the exit. Basic amenities include very, VERY clean bathrooms, showers, laundry, and dump. There was also a hose & long handle brush set out for washing vehicles, walking sticks and corn hole game available to anyone. Nothing else on base except a small exchange run out of a truck. The hosts were wonderful to work...
This park was on our way from Flagstaff, AZ to Port Hueneme, CA. (As previously mentioned, not worth the price, but better than driving too long of a day.) We stayed only one night in a 40' 5th wheel. We love when we have a pull-thru, but only back-ins here. No biggy though. The open area here makes backing anything easy. However, depending on which row you end up in you're gonna be backing down or uphill. We were...
Easy to get to base and to park. Check-in was quick, but we too were caught off guard about pet vaccination documentation. We had it so no problem, but had to dig it out and take it back. All sights are back-in, which we knew. Hated that we had to back-in what we consider the 'wrong' way; when your backing in and have the site at your right. Laundry was free. Stayed in 40' fifth-wheel with...
We got on base and totally got lost! Lucky for us the folks we asked for directions lived at the park so we followed them. (So thankful for those two to offer that service!!!!) Coming in the West gate, after going through security, you need to take first right at traffic circle then first right where you will see teen/youth center down that road. [I'm not giving you any street names because there were NO signs!!!] Then...
Nice park. Easy access off highway. We were headed East. Very busy park. Sites seemed to fill same day they emptied. Nice big concrete pads. Get an end site and you feel like you have a big yard! We travel with 40' fifth-wheel, and a Jeep pulling 8' trailer for motorcycle. Everything fit on the pad. Park is right next to highway so there is highway noise, but it wasn't too bad since the park...
Loved this place. Easy access on and off base and around park. The Westminster gate was closed on the Saturday that we left. Although the main gate is a lil tight, it's a straight shot, unlike so many of the bases that put the barricades up in a curve. The park looks new and clean. All those staying there were friendly and a joy to hang out with! We had a dog, so every...
Yes, location is great. Lots to do and enjoy in the area and that is why we were visiting. After reading previous reviews, I was apprehensive about what we'd find at the park and, well, it really is that disappointing. We camped in a 40' fifth-wheel. Check-in was smooth and then it all seem to go downhill. Very tight getting through the one-way road because of cars parked along the way. We had a horrible...
I would stay here again because who can argue with $20/night in Cali?!? We stayed in 40' 5th-wheel. We were here to visit San Fran Bay Area and Napa. Yes, the wind was an issue half the time we were there. Would've been nice to open door more often since the temperatures were great, but it sounded like the door would come off the hinges. (This wasn't the first place we stayed with heavy winds, so...
Definitely glad we stayed here! We camped with a 40' fifth-wheel. Location put us close to national and state parks in NW Oregon and SW Washington as well as a lot of other stuff to do in Seaside and Astoria. We were actually able to make reservations about two weeks before Labor Day weekend into the 'dry' sites for the holiday weekend then moved to a full-hookup site. The 8 dry sites w/30 amp are on grass....
