Nice campground, seems quiet and clean. It is in the middle of training grounds, so hiking trails are not nearby :( There is not a Shellfield Gate, it is Faulkner Gate and only has M-F hours, no weekends and holidays. However it is the most direct gate to the camp if you can get in during open hours. Access card gets you 25% off, not 33%, but still good!

What a great place to stay! We called about a week before Memorial Day and we were able to get a spot. We stayed in the loop and really liked it there away from the main area, close to the fishing pier and the Intercoastal Waterway. We loved the pet beach, though I do wish, because it's a pet beach that they could be off leash. Seems silly to me to have a place for them and then not to...

We called on a whim to see if they had any space over this weekend. The did have overflow available. We loved it in overflow. It was quiet and we were very close to the beach at the camping area. My only disappointment is that they don't have a "legal" dog accessible beach area. We had a great time there and I'm sure we will be back in the future since it is fairly close (less than 3 hour drive)...
