Hard to say anymore GREAT things about this park than has already been said. Kenny was very nice and helpful when I called to make reservations, could not wait to meet him-- and at check in he answered all questions I had and has made up information packets with directions to all the major areas of New Orleans, including directions to the Algiers ferry. He is truly a treasure and has made this a wonderful RV park. ...
Rick from MWR called in the AM to make sure we were arriving then greeted us at the gate. He gave us the internet code, rules, showed us the laundry and told us about Sombrero Beach 2 miles away, white sand and picnic tables. Good launching point for kayaks. We were in site #1, had a nice view of the water. Very quiet here except for the construction next door 8am-4pm Monday-Friday. We...
We arrived with reservations and checked in with Kathy. She was wonderful, we were able to stay an extra night and she took the time to show me where the laundry was, explain the cable (lots of channels), clubhouse etc. The WiFi worked some - good enough for us. The laundry facilities were GREAT, clean and free! Nice concrete pads made leveling the RV easy. Great views of the ships coming and going, nice sand beach,...
We arrived in our 30 foot motorhome, stopped at the office where Matt had a folder chock full of information for us. A map of the RV park and base, bike trails, TV channels, how to get mail, dining in the area and more. We have never been greeted this nicely. All the sites have concrete pads, cable (15 channels, plenty for us) and the WiFi was good most of the time. The free laundry is a...
We stayed here in our 30 foot motorhome at site #3. Doc was right there to greet us, very friendly and helpful with a map of the area. The sites have concrete pads so made for an easy set-up. WIFI OK. Close to shopping if needed and very quiet. An easy 30 minute drive to Charleston.
We stayed in our 30 foot motorhome in the "old" campground. However, the old campground has been remodeled and has concrete pads, new power, lots of space between sites and nice trees. We choose site 60, right next to the boardwalk to a wonderful white sand beach. The laundry facilities were great, we got several TV channels with our antenna. Close to shopping if needed. WiFi is available at the small NEX 1/2 mile from...
We arrived in our 30 foot motorhome - had a reservation made 2 months out and confirmed the week before arrival. However, we arrived and no sites were available. People pull into an empty site and stay even if they have no reservation. The staff does not make them leave for someone that has a reservation, what they did do was have us park next to a site and share the power (each site has 50amp and...
We stayed in our 30 ft motorhome, level enough sites, nice covered picnic tables, very convenient to go to the beautiful sand beach. The office has a chart on shark teeth, we found a few. Staff very helpful. Loved watching the helicopters overhead and fishing pier. Once we figured out the draw bridge opens on the hour and 1/2 hour, we could time our trips on and off the island. Only downside: A long way...
We arrived on a Sunday, our reservation envelope was on the board at the clubhouse. It contained out site #, directions to the commissary & BX on base and to the Branch Metro station. We checked in with Denise, the office manager, on Monday - she is very helpful, giving us metro passes and answered all our questions. The WIFI is great sometimes and other times it will kick you off. It was acceptable for us....
We stayed in our 30 ft motorhome for 3 nights. I called the day before arrival to see if we could get in a day early and no problem. As we turned off the Highway - Keith from MWR saw us, flagged us down, signed the paperwork and we were off to our site. He was right behind us to make sure our garbage was empty and we were had everything we needed. The sites are very...
A great campground for visiting Boston. We took the advise of one of the other reviews and drove to Hingham ($8 pp) to take the commuter ferry to downtown Boston. From there we walked to the visitor center and walked the Freedom trail ending up at the USS Constitution. There was a inner harbor ferry ($3 pp) back to downtown and then the Hingham ferry. Very easy. The campground sites were not totally level but...
