The cost for this park is only $20 and not $35 as stated above. When you come into the back gate, go straight about 1/2 mile. You will see a huge anchor on the left and a fighter jet on the right. Slow down and the park is after the storage lot on the left. Spaces 1 and 2 are smaller back in spots. 3 and 4 are longer back ins. 5 and 6 are very long pull thru....
We really enjoyed our stay. Nice, quiet park conveniently located between NYC and Philly. Lots to visit in the area. Not much on the base, but not too far to the nearest stores. When you enter the base, be sure to take the second right. Ask if you should take the first or second road into the park. They dead end and it could be an issue if you are longer. We read in other reviews about the weird...
Please note that the FamCamp is not on the base! When I registered I was given five pages (printed front and back) of rules in addition to the 16 rules printed on the registration form. I was told to sign them and then read them later. We got set up and I assembled the small free standing fence around our door which we have used at every famcamp and civilian campground we have stayed at over the last 3.75...
If you are looking for the Brown Sign for the camp, you won't find it. I am submitting a picture of the sign that you need to look for. Turn before the sign and park along the scrubs on the right. Be sure to have plenty of leveling material as many of the spots are not very level. There are many pull through sites, but the nicest spots are the back in ones. There are trees...
If you love the whole beach/ocean experience, then this is a great place for you. My complaint is the fact that we are probably here during the busy Amtrax (big, loud tanks) training time. The school is right down the road from the RV park and the Amtrax literally drive right through the whole length of the RV park and then up the side to enter the beach area where they train. Their staging area is probably...
Loved Point Mugu! Our spot was facing the ocean and I loved it. I could hear the surf during the night - very relaxing. Quiet, private beach which was very clean. This area is a protected seal sanctuary and we got to see a very large number of Harbor Seals with their babies. There is also an abundance of other wildlife. You are not allowed on the part of the beaches where the seals live. ...
Camp was not the easiest to get into as you have to go down a huge hill on a small road with a very tight curve at the top of the hill. No pull through spaces and office is not handicap accessible. Spaces are close together. Except for a golf course, there is nothing to do within walking distance. No biking paths near by and was unable to ride to a path since there was the huge hill (the...
This is our second stay this year. We love it here! Staff is very friendly and accommodating. This park takes reservations 6 months ahead. We have had to adjust our departure several times and the staff has gone out of their way to switch the computer reservations so that we can stay in the spot that we are in. Sites are spacious with trees and shrubs. Pull thru sites are very long. Walking path circles the entire park and...
