Civilian gate guards are uninformed and NOT help full. The guard from the small vehicle entrance (we were driving the Jeep towed) directed me to a 360 turn and go into the commercial entrapment area. Where I was informed by that guard that NO entrance was permitted with out prior reservations. I then had to ask him to lower the barrier so we could do a 180 and depart. The distance between the two guards was about 25'....
The original Fort is now a V.A center circa 1890s. The newer operational center is a mix from pre 1940s to very new and up to date facilities. The RV park is located in an open fenced area near the entrance to the range on Bruno Loop. The surface is gravel. There is water and sewer available. Power points are installed but not functional as of 8 Sep. 07. This facility is "big rig friendly". Check...
