Plenty of grass around sites. My site was fairly level but some others require a bit more coach leveling. Nicely spaced apart and road wide enough. Bright security lights, if light sleeper might want some black out curtains. Uncertain need to have such bright lights. No Wi-Fi, available at a number of places on base. Bath house was clean. Camp not completely full, there on a Monday & Tuesday. Easy to find...
Made reservation and site ready when arrived. Think we were assigned the host site (#1), had patch of astro turf and cement pad for the picnic table. Tight squeeze to drive thru site for pull through. Better to just back into the site. Old famcamp without a lot of attention recently. However, it worked just fine for our single night stay. Hadn't been here before so wanted to experience it. Definitely off the...
Friendly staff. Had made reservation but decided would like a different site. Manager fixed me up without a problem. FamCamp wasn't full. The hookups in the back-in section are a bit goofy but made them work for us. Have stayed here several times in the past and is fine for a stop. Wi-fi was functional.
Arrived Sunday evening. Checked-in with camp host and paid cash ($35), only form of payment that could be accepted. Monday ODR closed for holiday. No receipt provided. Handful of other campers in the park. Was quiet, sites are level with gravel pads. Grassy areas. Bathroom and Laundry closed for renovation. Did have wi-fi that worked for us.
Another visit to this park. Once arrived at famcamp need to call for check-in, office is closed due to COVID. Our site this time was in the new section of the famcamp, site was level and concrete pad long enough. The sites are a bit close to each other. Overall this is a good place for a stop over. If staying long term might opt for the bit more expensive older sites with mature trees...
Called day before arrival and was told sites will be available. Arrived early afternoon and checked into an electric and water site. Only staying one night. We stayed here several years ago and pretty sure were in the same site. Is a quiet famcamp with lots of other campers. There is a small commissary, open until 7pm on Thursday night. Wi-fi is available but signal at site is pretty weak. Was told signal...
No reservations taken at this popular famcamp. Thus we landed in overflow for the two nights we stayed. Was told at check-in that wait list was long. Overflow area is large bare ground with rock dividers designating sites. Sites have a picnic table and are large with long pull thru. Was told at check-in if need to run generator during quiet hours that is permissible if needed to stay comfortable. Temp did get down...
Had forgotten that sites aren’t level but with an extra block under rear jacks was able to level out. Pull through sites plenty long with a concrete pad beside. Thinking that large coverings were added over the table and concrete pad since our last stay. This is a quiet place with minimal activity on the base, over weekend or holiday. Overall we like this one, good place to ride bikes around and not worry about traffic....
This is a very nice RV Park. Wide spaces, trees, grass, level concrete pads, wide access roads, and quiet. Straight shot through the post main gate, no barriers to wiggle around. Was a bit of challenge making way back to RV park, some roads have no signage. Post has a new Exchange and large Commissary. There is a wi-fi hotspot at back of the park office but not through out the park. We liked...
We liked this small campground with electric and water. Looks like new electric was installed recently. The dump station is next to the bathhouse and isn’t exactly level but served the purpose. Our site allowed us to face towards the bay, so had great morning sunrise greet us. Site was very long pull through with plenty of grass around. Like this CG better than the larger famcamp nearer the Exchange & Commissary. However, if...
Third visit here, the last was two years ago. This time in “newer” section of the park. The access road to the RV park seems to have gotten more potholes and rougher than the last visit. Watch for the big dip when getting close to the last turn into the RV park. Site pretty level and wide enough. Gravel pad. All worked well. We like this park, it is quiet, other campers are...
Accessing base plenty easy, didn’t need to stop and wait for SF to move poles. We are 36’ with toad and could wiggle through barriers without issue. The Famcamp office gave instructions to find our site but guess didn’t listen close enough, sites 43 and up are in the second entrance passed the main famcamp entrance. This is newer part of the fampcamp with lots of grassy space between sites and concrete pads. Access road is...
ACCESSING THE BASE - Called Security Forces before arrival at Tye Gate and still ended up waiting a good 30 minutes before anyone showed up. We exited I-20 east bound at the Tye exit (277) and easy enough to find the Tye Gate. We called for access before 6pm, turns out shift change is at 6pm and day shift didn’t pass info along to night shift that we were waiting at gate. Had to call a 2nd...
Stayed in “new” section of RV park. All gravel sites but plenty wide and long. Pulled in on Thursday evening about 6p and found a number of empty sites to choose from. Easy in and out. Used the self check-in procedure. Chose site before visiting office, maybe should have checked in there before taking a site. They have a campground map with grease pencil marks indicating sites taken. Still worked out okay. ...
This review is for two separate stays at the Famcamp. Each visit we had reservation (they don’t assign a site at time of reservation) and on arrival found a number of empty sites to choose from. All the sites seem to be level with a concrete pad to park on. The camp host visited each time and offered assistance if needed. Very pleasant and courteous. Plenty of grassy space between our site and fellow campers....
Stayed in FampCamp II. Requested FamCamp I if became available when made reservation several weeks in advance. Told not available but scuttlebutt when speaking with other campers is that frequently there are unused FamCamp I sites available. We checked and noted the same. FampCamp II sites are close together and narrow paved pad. Is quiet with large grass area behind sites. Dump station located next to FampCamp II which was convenient. Sites in...
