We visited twice in August 2025 and had back in sites both times since we were unhooking the toad Jeep and staying multiple days. We arrived the day after a severe thunderstorm with large hail and there is still debris down. The whole area needs mowing in addition to debris cleanup. Both sites reasonably level, good utilities but as mentioned by others, mosquitoes can be an issue. Take some bug spray. We looked at but didn't use bath or laundry...
This is the second time we have stayed here; previous time was several years ago. This is a clean, quiet, RV park with nicely treed sites, level gravel sites, good utilities. The only complaint is lack of wifi unless you pay an extra $5 a day on top of the $45. Our phone hotspot worked good so just a minor inconvenience. Disclaimer we did NOT stay at Hale. I'm staying at the AF Academy Famcamp and we drove through Hale to check it out. Easy access off SR115 adjacent to a closed gate onto Ft Carson. First off it's NOT big rig friendly. I tried to fit a 38' 5th wheel and stuck out into the narrow street 3'. Site 1 had a water leak and on the phone advised not to use that site. I tried 2 other sites 6 and 3 and both had electric issues at the pedestal, ground fault. Of course an EMS won't connect with that fault. Being a Wednesday no one is in the office to report it. Large level sites with easy access to the utility connections. Wide sites. We didn't use the bath house but they were very clean. We did use the laundry and there are plenty of machines and the room was clean. We stayed in a 40 foot motorhome with a Jeep in tow. We were told we could wash vehicles if we wanted.
