Nice Famcamp, easy to get into and out of once on base. You will hear the aircraft, and trains and cars throughout the night and the shooting range adjacent to the the camp started up at 5am. As previously reported, if you want a quiet, relaxing place to unwind, this is not the place; Summer nights would likely be better with the air conditioners drowning out the outside noise. Traffic is significant off base getting to and from I-26 and...
Very nice, spacious and quiet campground easy to get in and out. We came in from the east on I-20, exit 92 to SR 601 south about 10 miles then right on SR 262 west for 7 miles to Weston Lake. The secondary roads were all in great shape and wide, with no traffic, we had no trouble with our 41ft motorhome and Toad. There's a large sign for Weston Lake but nothing about the campground until you are up...
Nice campground. Like others have said, the sewage drains are a little high, would be better if they added more gravel or paved the parking area to raise up the RV. Very well maintained grounds. There are great bike paths just out the gate that run through town, but wear a helmet or they won’t let you ride back on base. Lots of hiking options in and around town, we liked Helena Mountain park for some of the best....
Read some harsh reviews on this place; we almost passed it by. Reservations were easy, we had a site with water/electric, it was a pull thru on gravel with plenty of maneuvering room. Power worked fine, the grass was mowed and the dumpsters were emptied. Maybe they got the message because, though it was nothing special, it was an adequate site. We didn’t use the showers/restrooms but the dump station was accessible and easy to use. We would stop...
Great park with large pull through, would not even have to disconnect TOAD if you didn’t want to. The only thing missing is no shower house, though the sports fields adjacent to camp has full restrooms. The base is not well advertised off the highway, the north gate along US 90 was closed the whole time we were here. West gate is easy to use, they dropped the barriers for us for easy entry. Great bike paths, right behind...
