Head for Mid-Way RV park instead of Navy Lake RV Park which is just north of golf course at the base as we were told by rv'ers at Navy Lake that they are closing that base spring 2017 and returning land back to the city. Difficult to get a live person on the phone so just pull in at Mid-Way and look for an open site. Wish there was a weekly rate but there is free laundry and Wi-Fi....

Potential is there, needs some clarification. Staff is great, used access pass for $2. off rate. Located off base and you will drive by Outdoor Rec (red building), then Eagles Nest cg (right side), and at the bottom of the hill and over the bridge (read weight limits in other reviews) is Fletcher's Fork cg. IMPORTANT - At outdoor rec they will provide a free 50 amp to 30 amp convertor or you may purchase for about $30. First...

I would agree that big rigs would have difficulty. Paid $16. for electric/water back-in site. Dump station available as you leave. Loop layout into a hillside overlooking lake/beach area. I would recommend sites 1, 3, 5, 8, 9 or 11 as they seem to be the easiest to back into. Site 7 is a "pull out" but only for someone small or without a tow. Small rigs/tents could access the others but they are angled funny. Absolutely great Wi-Fi,...

Lovely campground, but some tight back in, hilly sites. We paid $14. a night (access pass) for FHU back-in site 4A. Larger rigs seem to be in area 2, but they are still back in sites. Great lake views, nice and quiet. Was able to get direct tv but there are also about 10 OTA. Laundry (2W/2D, 50 cents each) still overflows, they even ask you to space out starting times for wash. Very family friendly, lots of playgrounds....

Nice base, well worth the visit, lovely wooded setting. Campground laid out well, back in sites. Outer loop has fhu, inner loop is electrical only, tents, and bathhouse. Located right inside the east golf course. Office staff gets three stars. On one hand Denise was very informative about visiting the city, ask her about borrowing metro cards ($2. each and needed to ride the metro) I assume from previous RV'ers but spotty about enforcing the HOA's of the campground,...

Stayed one week to see the sites of Chicago. Price $18. per night for 30 amp and a great view of the lake. Very hard to find the first time and roads are tight. Coming in you will pass a ton of gates on the right, keep going toward the lake on highway 137 (Buckley) which will do a half circle (stay in the right hand lane) and then turn into the main gate on Farragut Ave. Navy Gateway...

Fantastic campground catering toward families/summertime children activities. Can imagine this place in the summer but even now this place fills on weekends!!! Right now winter sites are $90. per week fhu. Over 50+ cable tv channels but if you need direct tv, try site #68. Eyeballed some sites in Pine Loop (sites 1-40) that would get satellite tv. Saw only 1 pull thru, site 108. Sites 1-40 are in the newest loop and have the newest and largest restrooms....

Lovely campground that will remind you of your childhood camp experiences. Helpful notes - Billeting is straight ahead on main gate road on the right with a circle drive, laundry is free and plentiful but not near the campground, and after you enter the campground, take the left road to the rv spots. Very close to a main highway. We will be back.

Remember to call for a reservation as the office hours are m-f 0900-1300. They will have your site assigned if you are coming in after that time. No water but $10. a night is a bargain.
