Informational purposes: we arrived here just before the new year. Only 8 sites were without water and the famcamp was nearly full. By February, all sites had FHU services. Can’t beat the location, and access to base facilities such as the gym, commissary, exchange, gas station, car wash, auto repair shop are just literally down the road. Again, all sites are @ 100%.
Reservations were a snap, camp hostess Vickie took our info over the phone and gave us our site number. The grounds are kept up really well and folks were very friendly. We only stayed a few days to checkout the USAF museum on our way up home to MI. The base has everything you need and the directions to the campground are spot on.
Very nice campground. Exceptional customer service from staff and camphosts! The only downside is outside the control of the facility; the ticks are very, very bad. Did I mention the ticks are very bad? If you have pets, regardless of tick collars, meds, please check them everytime you take them out and also check yourself. Do not get close to the pine trees or walk on the trails without a post walk tick check.
