We stayed here for almost a month. The FamCamp itself is on the older side, but construction is now underway on 48 new sites where the infamous goathead field was. When that is completed, they will upgrade all the existing sites. While we were there all the laundry machines were replaced. An exceptionally clean, well-maintained FamCamp with helpful camp host. Office/rec room is small and cramped. Nearby Exchange/Commissary are small but adequate. Take the Commercial Gate if you're driving anything larger than a small camping van. It is well-marked off the interstate from the west.

This is a nice place to stay. The Billeting Office handling the RV campground is friendly and efficient. Reservations in season are apprently recommended, but we took a chance and just drove in and got a spot no problem. It is a completely paved parking lot-style campground, but very clean and the sites are of adequate size. Would definitely stay here again.

The Air Force FamCamp suffers quite a bit in comparison with the Army facility right next door. However, it does provide the basics and is conveniently located right on the highway just north of town with a Safeway market nearby. If you fish, this is a great place.
