We absolutely loved our stay at Sigsbee! We've been anxiously awaiting the reopening post-pandemic and are so excited to hear they are taking reservations again 6/1/2021. We'll be on the line making our winter reservations! Retirees can reserve sites up to 6 months in advance. Please note there have been some major changes posted from the command this week. Maximum stay is now 3 months and there is so more "shuffle." Instead you make reservations for FHU or dry camping....
This was a nice, clean paved campground as other have stated. It is a quiet little base with no exchange or commissary as others have noted (just a tiny mini NEX only open Mon-Fri during the day). The fitness center was very small as well. Although the sites are long, the internal roads are very narrow making it difficult for big fifth wheels and travel trailers to back in without going up on the sites across from them. We...
We loved this military campground located right on a beautiful bay. It is operated by Pensacola Naval Air Station, but is actually 9 miles outside of the NAS back gate off Highway 98. We stayed over on the full hook up side (Battleship Row), and were able to get reservations for 2 weeks in February. There is also a partial hook-up RV side which is closer to the mini golf. We visited Nellis in December and really enjoyed the legacy section of the campground. The sites are large with plenty of space on all sides. I don't think we'd have been happy in the newer section for longer than a night or two because they are much shorter and closer together. I think that section would really only be good for smaller campers and RVs. Although the facilities in the legacy section are older, they are clean and the...
This campground was adequate for an over night stay. I put cleanliness/hospitality at 3/5 because the grass was very tall and we never saw a camp host or outdoor rec person. We dropped our payment in a mail slot in the office. Amenities 4/5 because they had a clean and working bath house and laundry room, but no shade or really any type of landscaping other than the tall grass. Just very basic. Value is a 2 because it...
